Does anyone have any vague idea of what a bending spoon might sound like? Apparently 'bend' doesn't work.

Someone really needs to make an onamatopeida, because questions like this come up a lot.

Something akin to running a wet finger around the edge of a wineglass.

"WOM" isn't a good phrase for a spoon bending, but it might fit for the melodious sound one of those red Voit dodgeballs makes when colliding with some kid's head. (Or, more precisely, "WHONNNGG!!")

EDIT: I just choked on a chocolate easter egg. I made a "HAC HAC HAC" noise. I blame this thread.

Ah-ha! it depends on the type of cannon.
Mr Niel has suggested an air-cannon sound effect. But what sound would the chicken make if fired from a muzzle loading, closed breech, smoothbore style cannon with gunpowder propellant, such as they have on the old wooden sailing ships?
Or even the massive rifled breach loaders with cordite propellant that they used to have on the old battleships?

The point that I was jokingly making was that you didn't really want the sound effect for a chicken being fired from a cannon. What you really wanted was a comic, made up sound effect for a comic made up event.
No critisism implied at all by that! It's just my ironic sense of humour that no one else seems to get...

For the chicken, well, I saw it on Mythbusters once. Man that is a good show.

Anyway, cannon noises can be expressed in a lot of ways. For loud cannons, usually Ka-POW suffices (not to be confused with Ka-PIE ). A cannon in a distance or in a game of Super Mario Brothers goes something along the lines of Da-Doom. The important thing is that it probably should have two noises, which creates quite an emphasis that BOOM just can't pull off on its own. Also there's usually an echo in the distance. So try to switch around Ka, Da, Ba, with Pow, Boom, and, er, that's all I can think of. Depending on the scenario the cannon is in, it might make a different noise. Just keep trying them out 'till you find one right for you.
