Jebus, way too go Sony, again, Viral Marketing only works when done right. I advise you to take a look at this disaster, a fake blog called "all i want for xmas is a psp ".

Man, and I love my little PSP. This is just sad.

Ironically, I got into playing my PSP again yesterday. Now, I just feel dirty.

I think it's ironic though, that Sony's little blog is actually pushing away potential consumers, as opposed to attracting them. In my opinion, Sony needs to fire their marketing staff, and hire some people who actually know how to sell a product.

Also, Ridge Racer. RIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAACER!

Yeah, I am personally offended that they are trying that stupid fake blog thing. The racist ad was pretty bad too, but that seems more unintentional. Not to say that it isn't racist, just that the person designing it must have thought it was really clever and didn't think much about what it really looked like.

The fake blog is sad and stupid.
The adds were not racialist. That's an interpretation ;)
Countries like the Netherlands simply do not have the same history or culture as the USA: No imported slave class, etc, and so do not automatically confer racialist interpretations on images like that. They simply see it in terms of colours and design. Simply a funky add poster.

Not all the world sees things from the same perspective as the US, nor should they. That said, the Netherlands does seem to be getting more right wing these days...

Ah, it's about time Sony lost some ground, gamers are fickle but it's good they've finally realised how cynical Sony is.
-or maybe gamers are just cheap bastards hehe!

It would be really nice if they just worked on promoting the games. My PSP lacks titles. Give me more games and I might buy them!

Sony's fake blog actually prompted the FTC to say they'd be cracking down on misleading guerrilla marketing. According to the FTC, such advertising disasters like the PSP blog must disclose their clients.

Sony's marketing has been pulling some really stupid moves for a long time now. There was also the graffiti PSP ads that angered a lot of people. Sony got permission for every building they tagged, but they wanted it to look like urban thugs had tagged their favorite handheld all over the place, and that's what citizens of the city thought.

There's also the posters that were seen in the UK subway systems... Among the controversial posters was one that suggested people jump in front of the subway train. People didn't like that either.

Then there were those stupid PSP commercials with the dust bunnies and "ethnic" squirrels. Not only were they annoying, but they implied that the PSP was as fun as watching carpet. And the new Daxter game? Apparently those squirrels would "hit" that.

It doesn't help that Sony's PR keeps saying some pretty stupid things. Just when you think it's time to take Sony seriously again, Ken Kutaragi opens his mouth and says something to totally shock you.

Sony needs to be careful.
