I'm watching this special on man-eating lions. It was a very interesting show all the way through, but what freaked me out was the fact that a man eating lion would do something no normal lion was known to do...
In order to avoid the lion people called "Osama", they abandoned their homes and moved north across the river where they felt safer. But they weren't safe for long because the man eating lion was spotted swimming across the river to where they had moved! That lion and the ones at Tsavo were all larger than normal and maneless. O_O
...
Oh, then there's that show about how Yellowstone National Park is actually on top of a super volcano. Yikes!

Sometimes I think some History Channel shows are scarier than the movies...

Yep. And when you think about how a supervolcano eruption nearly wiped out mankind a long time ago... down to about 1000 to 10,000 breeding pairs... and we're all descendants of that bottleneck in our evolution... O_O

I have to agree. The history channel does have a couple of creepy episodes.
And it also has good shows... like "The History of Sex". :)

Back when I quit watching it, most of the time all it had on was documentaries about Nazis and WW2 in general...

They've had some great ones lately. The show Human Weapon is a favorite of mine. Modern Marvels, as boring as it can be at times, is so informative. They also have Mail Call, which is single handedly the BEST history channel show ever.

I never watch The History Channel late at night for exactly that reason... Well, 'til they started putting out that Astronomy series (I'm going to order the whole thing on DVD when I can).
heh... thinking about that lion swimming across a crocodile filled river just so it can eat people is still scaring me. Especially when I've been told lions always avoid the water. O_O
