That doesn't make any sense to me - if you have an eye for details when you are young - you are suppose to lose that eye as you get older - I am falling apart but I'm not senile yet

I would imagine the opposite as well. You should be getting better as you age, not "losing your eye for detail". Because at 51 you'd have a pretty amazing eye for detail if you've been drawing all your life.
