Tis one of the biggest anime conventions in the states and is happening July 20-22 in Baltimore.

Who all from the Duck is going? And if so, got a table? :D

I'll be there with my studio which at this con just includes myself and Xero from Swordwaltzer (he's on the duck too!). And I've got a panel on fingerpaintin... er, Photoshop on Saturday at 8:30pm which I'm getting ulcers about. ^_^

Wow you're doing a panel at Otakon? Impressive! I went in '03; it was alright, but it was so crowded I couldn't make it on time to any of the panels! Comic con is the same way. I like the smaller cons now becuase you get to know people better, it's easier to get around, and it smells better too!

good luck at Otakon!

I'm glad you posted this. I meant to a few days ago and got sidetracked.

I'm going, and will have a table in the Alley. My friend Anthony, who has done layouts for most of the current issue of Sune will also be there, but for him this will primarily a vacation (his first in five years), so he'll probably be wandering around more than anything else. The girl, Hexx (who is currently laughing at me as I wear the empathy belly she brought home from work), and our boy will be going as well. But me...mostly I'll be behind the table.

Supposedly I'll have a workshop on sequentials and traditional inking, as I did in 2005; they told me they'd make space and asked about my needs, but I haven't heard back from them since. Then again, it was like two weeks before the con when I was asked in 2005, so....

But yes, the Stormchild crew will be there.

I'm going too, but I don't know what I'll be doing. My bro is doing a panel on AMV Tips and Tricks, so if you're into that, check it out. *I might bring cookies for that panel...*

Okay, now that the schedule is out.

Friday night is my "workshop"...on the schedule it just says "Stormchild Studio" from like 5:30p to 7:30p in Workshop 3. Though I haven't spoken with the planner directly this week, I was told by another staffer last night they have someone else doing sequentials and inking on Saturday (unless there's been some confusion, which is entirely possible given the jumping around between phone and email conversations). So, to avoid being entirely redundant, and because the workshop apparently has no particular designated subject...

I'm going to just say, "the creative process" and let those who attend pretty much dictate the topics by the questions asked. Plotting, scripting, dialog, penciling, inking, lettering, tips, tricks, materials, whatever...I'll pack my laptop and my art supplies and we'll just go from there.

Actually, I find the idea of something more freeform like that rather appealing. Sure, it has potential for chaos, but therein lies the entertainment value.

Afterwards, Hexx, Anthony and I are going out for dinner (I don't particularly care where so long as it has beer), so anyone who wants to tag along and continue whatever trouble we've gotten ourselves into is more than welcome to follow.

What's so strange is I'm doing a PANEL on digital sequentials Saturday night. I almost wonder why they didn't move it to workshops or something.

It's so bizarre, programming sometimes. But all will be well... once it's over. At least for me.

I'm honestly not ready for those long hours. :/

No kidding! The AA is open until midnight! Not to sound cliche, but I'm too old for this $#*%. O_o

I'm glad I'm not doing any panels for a change.
