So how many artists here are interested in anthropromorphic art?

I've just met a few very talented artists who specialize in the Anthropromorphic style, and I was wondering how many more of you are out there? Just curious.

There are a few here, Lovemagic has a lot of furry, (it's an ADULT comic), and Detective Fork ...
Anyway, this belongs in the art and lit section Sandy. It'll just get the wrong kind of attention here.
I'll move it. ;)

I'd hazard a guess that the artist of Klotek Omen may be, though her style seems more like the full-animal Don Bluth style.

I know Klotec Omen. It's on my favorites list at Smack Jeeves. Anyway, it's nice even to see people who don't specialize in the style, are able to draw in it in their own special way. I specialize in it because I really like animals and I believe that they were the first creatures on the Earth and there's nothing wrong with celebrating Nature.

oh, absotively. I'm actually going to start drawing what... what I guess you could call reverse anthropromorphic once my comic takes a turn. I really hope it works out for it. Reverse Anthropromorphic isn't exactly humans looking like animals like it sounds... um... I'll try to show you what I mean in a bit.

I'm happy to see that there are people who look at anthro art more for the creativity than the association with pornographic subjects. From what I've seen by reading Farmillia, Kotec Omen, Vreakers, and Rival Love, created by my very good friend, Kathryn, I'd say that people who don't see the beauty in Anthro art, should really take a look at these titles and then decide whether or not to call it trash. And I can't wait to see your work Mechanical Lullaby. I'm looking forward to it. ^^

Anthro is more than just animals, just the same as it's more than just porn.
Coydog (Monique MacNaughton) is a prolific artist in the field! Most of her work features a mecha anthro character: Talking jets and Space shuttles in Arrowflight, a robotic dolphin and horse in UNAF, humanoid cars in Wingtail girls, and humanoid trains in anther of her comics... Forgot the name.
Then there's Kevin Ghul's (?) Detective Fork comics that I mentioned earlier. He has hamanoid culterly! It's a really interesting concept.
Furries, like furry porn, are only a small aspect of the "genre".

Oh yeah, I remember those, I read those too, great stuff! UNA frontiers was really well done and so was Detective Fork, very funny too I might ad. All those comics are really what it's all about. Being creative.

I like Sonic. =O
I don't draw anthro, however, though I used to do it all the time.

You're welcome. I just happened to learn these things while watching all those classic mickey cartoons as a kid. Plus I got extra training in the History of Animation back in college. But most of it was learned when I was a kid.

The Saga of Rend is full of anthropromorphic characters..
Tiger men, dragon men, and yes, even a wolf man ^o^
but I dont consider them furries.

no offense but "furries" kind of scare me.
Although I am a fan of the Lion King and of The Little Mermaid and stuff- do those count as anthro?
hehehe just thought maybe a divergent opinion would spice things up ^_^

Actually on another level, the Little Mermaid and the Lion King do fit into that category because they do have some animal attributes plus human attributes in the sense that the animals can talk. At least that's how I look at it.

I've done anthro art for years, even before I even knew what it was called. Last year when I was at Sakuracon, I was the 'girl who does anthros', heh. I'm actually told my anthros are better than my humans, so if that counts for anything... there you have it.

Ohh yeah, I think I have seen that one, I like how the artist uses monochromatics, very nice indeed. You're right, that one is underrated.
