It'd be great to have a "review this comic" button above to each comic (sorta like they do on webcomicsnation.com). That way somebody reading a comic could immediately jump to the review section of the forums and start a thread. It would eliminate the long-stagnant signup sheet and the comics actively being reviewed would jump to the top of the thread. It would create a feedback flow above and beyond the ratings system (5, anyone?) and hip lots of viewers to new comics.
This is probably very, very hard to implement properly. I imagine, though, that there might be some cheater workaround that gets the job done.
As it is, we're all so busy that we barely have time to update our own comics, let alone read our favorites, comment on 'em and participate in the forums. If we had a way to start a dialog about a certain comic without having to read the entire backlog it might be a big help to everyone.
Comic Review
So crazy it just might work!

Ages ago when we first talked about changes, one of the things the admins really wanted was a user-driven review feature. :) Sort of like, long-term comments maybe? A reader can click on some review button, and read the reviews that others have left (which are all stored on their own 'reviews' page), and could leave one of their own if they wanted. We'd have to let the comic owners delete them if they wanted (though maybe not edit them) in case someone just used the page for abuse etc.
So that is the kind of thing we've considered and want to do... I think it's pretty low on the priority list, as you've said, just because there's so many things to do! So webcomicsnation has something like this, do they?

When you click on the Webcomicsnation link, it takes you to this page which then posts on the front page (I think after the moderator looks it over).
Very cool, and you can do it super easily.

Oh, i think it's a great idea, it'd be good for just having a quick glance at, to see if the comic sounds like your cup of tea.
