As an idea it's got a lotta merrit. But it's one of those "it can't actually work properly given the software" kinda things. I could see this working if a team of programers were working, but to me it's too slow and unresponsive. Zelda jumps like 3 screens long sometimes.

But it gets high attempt points. Cause it attempted a very lofty goal.

It wreaks of being almost good. If they correct a few major issues I think it would be great thing.

I always wanted a sprite Smash Bros. on the GBA. Now that they have the DS there's rumors they're making a Smash Bros. for it. I'd love to play such a game.

Sprite smash bros wouldn't work because scaling on pixel art looks TERRIBLE. Seeing as the Camera is required to zoom in and out to make the gameplay work, it's never going to fly.

With vectors though...that could be a goer...

Bah, the game's alright, but the gameplay is extremely hard to control. It was okay... but why make a game exactly like the one on gamecube?

I think fixing the camera damages the gameplay too much to make it a viable option.

I don't think it's out of the question to make a Sprite Smash Bros. that doesn't scale. You see, you don't have to zoom out to show all the characters because each player has his own screen.

The problem with that is then Samus would be unstoppable, since whoever's playing as her can just hide off screen, get a charge up, then fire a blast from off your screen where you'll have no chance of protecting yourself from it.

Hmmm.... that's a tricky one. You're right that it would give her an advantage. If they had little arrows with the characters pointing offscreen that showed the character's head, and you could hear the charging armcannon, it might clue you in. Of course, once she stopped charging and held her shot she'd pretty much be a ticking time-bomb of destruction.

Luckily that's something we won't have to worry about as any handheld Smash Bros. they make would be for the DS now and it would be like a portable N64 Smash Bros.
