I never liked any of the Gundams except the original... In the first ones the Gundams were at least within the realms of possibility, then they threw that out the fucking window as soon as they got into the other series.

Some of the OAVs based on the original series keep things more realistic. I liked Stardust Memories, myself (it has a great "everybody loses" ending) and War in the Pocket never blows anything out of proportion. You really get the impression that a single Zaku piloted by the right person could take down a Gundam.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Ninja Scroll... that was an amazing movie.

Ninja Scroll had a shitty and incomprehensible plot. But it did have some really amazing action scenes. Hell, the action scenes are Ninja Scroll's only good point. If it weren't for them, it'd be one of the worst movies of all time.

I like anything made by Hayao Miazaki.

I can't believ I forgot to mention how much i adore Tenchi Muyo: in Love. It's one of those movies I taped a long time ago, and always forget which tape it's on, so whenever I find it I'm always plesantly surpised.

I was talking about the movie. And I did acknowledge the jaw-dropping action sequences, but the plot still sucks ass.

No, I'm not denying that about the action sequences. Well.. to each his own! =^.^=

Out of anime movies based on already existing TV or OVA titles, gotta go with Dirty Pair, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, and Tenchi Muyo In Love.

I'm surprised no one's yet said End Of Evangelion. Personally, I really enjoyed The Time Bombed Skyscraper, but then again, I'm biased toward Detective Conan.

Roujin Z was also one of my favorites, although I'm not sure if I'd call it the best ever. It's probably the best one in my collection, though.

I'm realizing now that I really don't have many anime movies. Most of what I have are TV series and OVAs.

Of the few I've seen, Princess Mononoke is the best. There's something about decapitating someone with a bow and arrow...

But yeah, I've been pretty much anime deprived. Boo hoo.

Yeah, Tottoro, Ghost In The Shell, Spirited Away, Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, Plastic Little, Macross Plus... I don't know what else, probaly several.

Steamboy really sucked though. I liked the setting and the machines, the animation, but I just hated the movie for some reason... It felt so flat. the story was basically exactly the same thing you've seen in almost every anime movie ever, I don't mind that though usually; using the same story over and over is pretty comon in all facets of culture, it's just that in Steamboy it just felt like more of the same this time. I had to force myself to sit through it to the end.

I've watched some anime movies. But none of them thus far has entertained me. Don't get me wrong, I like anime. But I find that most anime movies are not as entertaining as anime series... well, except for the case of Yugioh: The Movie which is better than the anime series.

I wish I could find some high adrenaline action anime movie like the FLCL series.

You just haven't found the right ones then. I guarentee you, there are anime movies you will like. Try Akira of the Cowboy Bebop movie if you haven't seen those. Ghost in the Shell kicks ass too.

For me, it's hard to decide between Mononoke Hime and Naussica. Perfect Blue was pretty good as well.

Of Lupin III movies, the original Mystery Of Mamo(or as its called nowadays "Secret Of Mamo)is the best in my book. Cagliostro second, which is convenient as it was the 2nd Lupin film.

Yeah, but then there's the whole middle part which DID have to do with card battles in the manga.

I've read both the original and the Millenium world, and unfortunatly although they do away with the card battling, the characters are still pretty corney and the dialogue is clunky.
