Saw Shrek The Third today. Not only did it seem like they ripped off the premise of Happily Never After(which was made by the same writer as the first 2 Shreks), but at the same time highlighting mainly only the Disney-inspired fairy tale characters, or at least the European-based ones. Once they have kids though, that's pretty much the end of the series. That's how Star Wars ended. They serious need to let the franchise end with this movie, at least to stop giving Eddie Murphey an excuse to keep working.

I liked it. But the Third will most likly be the end.

Unless there is a "Son of Shrek".

Like the Matrix. I liked it better when there was only one.

I've read the premise for Shrek 3 and I understand it, but it is essentially unnecessary.

Shrek 2 was likable and interesting and funny, but I will consider it the last of the series. Shrek 3 will just be extra...kind of like the 3rd Lord of the Rings.

And I agree about the Matrix not needing any sequels.

The only recent movie that had a 3rd in the sequence that really pulled it off was Terminator 3...and it was just quirky and interesting enough to squeak by (although admittedly, all the main issues were addressed in T2).

My mind is in a state of confuzement due to that sentence.
How can LotR 3 be "just an extra"? It's the end of the story, just like in the original book trilogy.

No offense to LOTR fans but although I know the story, the sequels were much harder to watch than the first for me. I absolutely adored the first LOTR. I felt like I was being forced to hold on to the bitter end by the third...I didn't enjoy it as much, that's all. It shouldn't be an exercise in patience to get through a movie...

Was there a point to having Justin Timberlake in it? You get a guy who's known for his singing voice(NOT his speaking voice) & for his performing that can be SEEN(voice over work not included), and they give him one of the major roles in the movie? Er, duh! That's just retarded.

I thought the Disney-favoritism reached an all time low in the film when out of the regular HUMAN princesses, the one that betrays them is the one that DIDN'T have their own Disney feature.

And sure, Charming was the @$$hole in this one, but Shrek did sort of KILL HIS MOM!

You would be happy to know that Shrek is a FOUR part story, there will deffenetly be number four, then thats it. There making it already, infact they started half way through number 3.

I thought it was entertaining, but it just didn't feel... "movie" enough. It felt more like an episode of a TV series. I guess if you do anything regularly enough it's bound to start feeling fairly "episodic" in due time. All in all I felt like it had more of a "direct-to-DVD" charm to it; not really a feature film-ness.

Puss...in...Boots...movie...? I just lost all respect for the franchise. But that's because I always hated the character. Just my opinion.

That's why most of Disney's sequals to their animated films are OVAs.

No, Starwars made 6 movies. 4, 5, and 6 were just made before the others. And the books didn't even stop there. They went on to the training of Leia and Han's son going to Jedi camp (No jokeing!).

Altogether, I don't get what your problem with Shrek III is. I thought it was very humorous. There were some scenes that could've been better, but there wer two great scenes: Baby dream scene (HECK YEAH!), and princess battle scene (Okay, a little cheesy, but I loved watching the woodland creatures take down the talking tree).

Hmm, I think four is a little too much. And "Puss in Boots El movie" won't work out. His cuteness wore off in the third. But everyone is going to go see them, then rant about it on the forum. I swear, when I see a "Shrek 4 (OH YEAH! THAT'S ENOUGH!)"...

Star Wars, the ACTUAL GENUINE BONAFIDE continuity, makes up only the 6 regular movies and Clone Wars. Everthing else is cannon fodder.

well if you read the news paper my mom saw the creator of shreak saying something about there will be more and maybe putting it on tv and mom said there will be more than 4 she didnt say anything about puss in boots movie coming out though
