Its a great conspiracy/action movie. The last part sucks though. :(

Say what? I loved the movie, although I think I liked it backwards then because for me the entire beginning was an exercise in dullness. I mean, I've seen the exact same plot a hundred times before; framed for murder, hunted by the police, a dark conspiracy that threatens to envelope our hero, all typical stuff. The beginning was very similar to Most Wanted (which was unofficially based on the novel Point of Impact which Shooter is directly based on) and it was kinda boring to me.

But after that, things picked up. Our hero finally decided to get back at the people who screwed him over and there was much action (okay, I'm biased, I'm an action junkie). I enjoyed the nice lack of unnecessary special effects and the grisly violence (which I had feared would be toned down from the book). I actually liked the ending quite a bit. It had that kind of cheesy B-grade action movie feel I love.

But that's just me.

I'd give it a solid 4/5. (I've seen better but I've seen a lot worse.)

You know that fake trailer for Machete in grindhouse? Shooter looks like a real version of that with Marky Mark.

I prefer it to have some kung fu fights. It would be better that way.
