Is there a chance in hell that this game will ever come out?

A while ago, Kikizo reported that Shenmue 3 was finished (texture-wise)... then nothing. Out of nowhere came Shenmue Online, which, aside from being a horrible way to continue the series, disappeared and appears to be canceled. This whole thing is confusing, much more so than the whole Duke Nukem Forever situation with SEGA, when asked about Shenmue 3 keeps a 'not denying, not comfirming' stand.

Shenmue 1 and 2 sold pretty well, not enough to justify production costs, but did sell enough to make a profit. Now, my question, will Shenmue 3 ever see the light of day?

Probably not.

Sorry, we still need fifty more sandbox games, two hundred more FPS', thirty more generic RPG's in the vain of Final Fantasy, and at least twenty more largely hyped yet dissapointing titles before we get something that the small minority of gaming fans actually want to play.

It's all about the mass market. Unfortunatly the mass market doesn't give a fuck about Shenmue.

Ironically, Shenmue was a sanbox game that was largely hyped and dissapointing. Guess we only need 49 more in that category, eh?

I loved Shenmue, but it was a pretty mediocre adventure game that consisted of asking people multiple questions "LOL WERE R SAILURZ???" and even though it was cool you could collect sonic figurines and harass random Japanese girls, the middle portions of the game were pretty boring including RIDE A FORK LIFT FOR 3 HOURS YSE!!1

Shenmue 2 fixed a lot of my gripes but with the badguy always mysteriously escaping without a word, I just stopped caring about the story. Supposedly Shenmue 3 was going to take place in canada or something. Oh well.
