I'm primarily a black and white artist, mostly because I'm color-blind, but the last few years, I've been working on adding some color to my line-work on my own. It's pretty basic, for the most part, as I'm just trying to get a sense of what works and what doesn't, so be gentle on that. So, yeah, here's some of my more recent works:

OHHhhhh man.. That character looks amazingly like my Pinky's (from Piny TA) current outfit. Just checked out the site of that comic too and Pinky's fist big appearance in that costume pre-dates his comic by quite a bit.
And last year Pinky TA the comic was really popular (zillions of hits)

I wonder if he saw it and got the idea from there? It's quite possible seeing how highly viewed the comic was at that time. Hmmmm... -_-

I like your Dog Comic Strip, very original style.

I too consider myself a Black and White Cartoonist, but forced myself to start colouring a couple of years back. Get yourself a colour wheel, they are great in learning which colours go with which.

I see you have added shadow to some, maybe consider adding highlights as well.

I'm lucky, my wife is a contemporary wildlife artist who is exceptionally talented with colour and light and shade, so if I think a panel isn't working I can just ask her.

That's funny - I actually took a lot of criticism for the dog strip - it apparently reminded people of the old 2 Stupid Dogs cartoon too much.

I actually have a bachelors in art, despite the color issues. You want to hear something hilarious? My COLOR THEORY professor was colorblind, too. The colorwheel and such just doesn't help me too much. Once I start mixing and laying colors on top of one another, a lot of the time, it just all gets lost to me, hence my tendency to use bold, flat colors.

Bold flat colors fit your lineart style, so it's okay.
