I agree. I just watched The Host this weekend and it was a different take on the muntant monster movie theme. I kind of felt like a mesh of an Wes Anderson movie and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. The thing that gets me is that I read Hollywood now wants to remake The Host...americanize...this never works and most people who see the remakes really miss out on the original, which is normally much better.
Next one I want to watch is A Tale of Two Sisters...also supposedly being remade...argh!!!

I saw the Host and Phone recently and I really liked them.
Ive got 2009 Lost Memories to watch next =)

Phone's one of my new favorites. I don't watch a lot of Korean movies but the ones I do I end up liking.

watching these movies makes me want to live there :)
damn! i wish these types of movies reach more wider audience in the US
Haebaragi
After a ten years prison sentence, Tae-Sik gets out of jail as a reformed gangster. He has vowed to change his ways and never fight again or get in trouble. He goes back to his hometown to live peacefully with a lady that he calls “mom†and her daughter which he eventually thinks of as a “sister.†He tries to live a good honest life, trying to make for killing his stepmom's real son. this has everything i like. dramatic, compelling moments, action, good characters! the end has a very emotional fight scene
