I can't even begin to really explain this, but I thought it was hilarious.

Someone posted this in the golden days of the TD. :)
I wonder what the real story behind it was though? Just made for fun or what?
I still love the dancing cloud people.

Rejected is one of the early work made by Don Hertzfeldt. If you don't know him then I recommend looking him up. There's some twisted work after him out there.
Here's another early work after him. Genre

Those were my two cents.

This line from wiki is a bit depressing though:
The short's enduring popularity has led the film to be described as "this generation's A Hard Day's Night".
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh... It's not that good. I always liked it, it's an entertaining little bit of internet flotsam, but... Not that remarkable.

Hertzfeldt is great. He also made the brilliant "Intermission in 3D".

It's not the same guy, Poptarts just blatantly ripped him off. The Family Learning Channel is fictional also. The whole point of Rejected (aside from just being funny) is that commercialism stifles creativity and uniqueness which makes what poptarts is doing all the more annoying.

Have you seen A Hard Days Night? It really isn't more than entertaining flotsam either. It's just about as cartoonish as Rejected too.
