Honestly, I can't think of five series I liked that much in recent years. I used to like Naruto as a series until it came to be in Shippuden that Naruto is basically Superman/Neo. Too much power creep ruins things for me. :/

1. Black Jack (the original series, not the second season)
2. Digimon Adventure 02 (Nostalgia points go a long way.)

I'd like to put Sergeant Frog in that list, but sadly the anime is pretty terrible.

Interesting choices Girantinasaurt. Digimon series 2 was great though I enjoyed 1 alot more. Never got into XXX Holic.

I want to give angel beats a try. What's it about?
A bunch of kids in the afterlife rebelling against the system because they feel cheated by the crappy lives they had. Purgatory, apparently, is a Japanese high school. It's an amusing series and has some good comedic moments, but I found it simply lacked the heartwrenching moments I've come to expect from the other Key series. Kannon (second series), Air, and Clannad were all better, but it's still worth a watch.
