3/5

Pros: The artwork is very clean (because it's vector-based) and obviously some effort was put into the comic which makes it stand out from your average stick-figure-type comics.

Cons: The humor wasn't really there for me.

Improve on: Backgrounds. Don't make them all blurry like that. It's quite annoying to the eyes.

@Never Fade Away

Rating: 4/5 (so far)

Pros: Lineart and art is great... as well as the usage of tones. Though I'm a fan of other shading methods (cel shading, airbrush+burn, crosshatching, dark blocks).. and I'm not too much a fan of tones... though they'd look great even with color flats on a separate layer. Nice dragons btw.

Cons: Sometimes the mouths are out of place making the chins look a little too large. Also the text size. Please make it a bit larger.

*I cannot really say much about the story because only few stuff has happened so far.

@kuckles: Ok thx, I'll stop making them blurry, unless of course they are suppose to be far away. Heh-heh, that's the best humor i can come up with. I'm not good with the jokes. :P

@kyupol's Mag-isa?

Pros: I see you put ALOT of work into this comic. And you are quite good with writing a story.

Cons: the only thing i saw bad were in the old pages where some of the guy's eads where too small. But that's not that bad.

I don't see anything you can improve on.

4.7/5 <- heh-heh, forgot to rate :P

@ABL (Phuck'n)

Cons - Okay the blur background is cool but it's too much blur. Cut it down by like half and see how that works. With it this high it looks like an out of focus camera from an indie movie. Unless that's what you're going for. And on your latest update he's sitting in a chair and the chair is in front of the character but still blurred. Anything at character positioning level should be at the same focus as the character himself/herself.

Pros - The shading and the character designs are great, the comedy fits perfect and the site lay out itself is awesome. I think this has to go on my new faves list.

@ShinGen's 1337-

Pro's- There's always humor in your comics and it's stuff that's not copied from VGcats. The presentation is good and the colouring is spot on.

Cons- Pretty simple art style with little perspective. The line art could also look a bit better (jaggy lines).

Overall: 3.5/5

@Priest_Revan: 2's a Company

Pros: The character designs are solid, and the coloring is bright and chearful. This gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when I read your comic. The dialogue is well written, with only a few instances where it feels like it was "written" more so than it's being spoken. The world that you've created feels lived in, and not sterile. It has a feeling like coming home.

Cons: Some of the pages have a little too much text on them, sacrificing placing characters on the page for having balloons pointing off panel. Sometimes it's a little difficult to figure out who's saying what. Some of the characters look very similar, almost like they could be twins, and it's sometimes difficult to establish the age of some of the characters (ie: the Principal versus the students), although the outfits usually make them identifyable.

Temple~

Pros: The clothes the characters wear, the tones and the scenery are what i like best about your comic, i'm a sucker for action, i like how the story's coming along~

Cons: some anatomy and angles could be improved to make this comic REALLY pop out at people, but i'm sure that if you had those things it would be amazing =3

Katch

Pros: Good expression on characters and good variety of angles in the storytelling. Some nice interaction between characters.

Cons: ...but just as often the character interaction is confusing. The first two pages of the story proper read like a stream of non sequitirs and I have no idea what was going on there. Lots of spelling errors too. Pencil art is energetic, but looks rushed and faint. Needs to be inked.

Superfogeys - 4/5

Pros: Clean artwork, well done layouts, funny premise and witty writing.

Cons: Falls into the trap that a lot of newspaper comics fall into. The writing is always a setup - punchline and its never edgy or goes for a hard belly laugh. Its humerus, but its not hilarious.

penis- 3.5/5 because I'm a reader, and I'm being lenient. It's occasionally funny, and it's good for a gag. But, realistically? You know it's a bad comic, marine. It's probably a 2/5 on most people's scales.

Pros: You're consistent with the style of jokes and comics, no one can argue that. You put out a page a day- that's consistency at its best. The jokes themselves are sometimes silly or bland, but they're still -there- everyday.

Cons: The art's pretty bad, though it's slightly charming. Some of the subject matter is a little gross, and you probably miss out on readers because of it.

Nadya- a tale about what happens to SOME of us when we die.

Currently: Nadya is awake and asking more relevant questions.

Nadya:

Pros: An interesting story about what concerns us all, whether we admit it or not: what happens after death. Great match of the art to the mood, and a steady pacing in the unfolding of the mystery.

Cons: There aren't any of cardinal importance- this is a good story and a solid comic. So um, what could I say? Sometimes there is need for attention when the entire body is drawn... and maybe -maybe- a bit more frequent updating. But I really had to stop and think about cons for Nadya :)

Overall: 4.6/5

Wow, i was lookin for this topic thought it was deleted coz i couldn'tsee it anywhere below :P I never expected a sticky...

@Tantz for your wolf comic:

Pros: I finally see a comic with some wielding a scythe for a wepaon and not a giant blade. i just love sythes. Good drawing overall and nice acting on the characters' part. Also has a nice story.

Cons: When i raed from the beginning, it was all in color, which waas nice. Suddenly you ended up in just drawing it. I liked the colored ones the best. Though you don't have to go back to it just because of what i said. And that's the only downside I can see.

Tantz Aerine:

To be honest I think you're crazy to try and do a serious comic story by yourself for free. The amount of time and effort that you must have to put into each page... So for that reason it's impossible for me to give you less than a 4.5

Pros: Quite good anatomy and posing. Your action sequences are amazing. Nice tonal work. Facial expressions are good. I think your last page in particular was excellent.

Cons: I'd keep the b/w sketch pages. The colour pages seem a bit flat and lifeless. Occasionally you seem to suffer from Shrunken Head Syndrome.

I think your fans should be grateful for the quality of your comic.

@nibbi

Pros: SSG has a good art style with some okay humor so far and the coloring is perfect for it. It seems to have a lot of promise and is set in a very interesting universe. Also it has a slight element of mystery to it which is good.

Cons: The story line isn't very deep yet and there are very few pages to go through. Not much is really going on at all yet and it feels a bit over the top. Also the backgrounds can be dull or noisy at times.

Pro: Original humor. Anything pop culture is loved and usually funny. Art gets better.

Con: The title...Dreams of 1337ness? Go to the site and see a banner of two guys on a couch? The first impression looks very common and unoriginal.

Pro: Love the look of the characters and the art defiantly gets better as you go, especially backgrounds. The sketchy shading and interesting angles give it a great look and is very visually appealing. The story is really interesting.

Cons: The anatomy is off a bit sometimes, especially in the calf/foot area. And sometimes the perspective is a little off.

Rate: 4.5/5

(when rating mine, Snakes and Apples doesn't have many pages but Beyond the Pale and Kenyagi are 25 pages or more, so might be better to read one of those instead.)

@Kiandranishan-Snakes and Apples (sorry, I know that you said this one would be hard to understand right now, but it was so beautiful).

Pros: Beautiful artwork and anatomy. The colouring and shading is spot on and the characters (two of 'em) designs are lovely. Everything in this comic has a life of its own and its wonderful.
As far as the story goes, it looks like its going to be interesting. I'm adding that to my favs so I can see what happens.

Cons: Oh jeez...umm... well, you have such simple backgrounds for such beautiful characters. It's really the only downside.

Rating: 4.5/5

Priest_Revan: I really like your characters! You don't do much backgrounds I see (heh, you're not the only one who does that, backgrounds are irritating) but the artstyle of your characters looks good. The coloring is just 'avarege'. Not too special, but not bad at all. The lettering it decent, I believe you're getting better at that point.
Now I don't know if the comics are supposed to be funny, 'cause I don't think they are supposed to be. If they are: Sorry, they are just not funny. If they're not: It are just fine comics.

Pros: Characters and that the comic gives a nice look in the life of them
Cons: Mostly just the backgrounds and the panels. You should give your pages some more space and bigger panels. Maybe it could work.

I'll give 2's A Company a 3,3

The art in So Bored is a bit inconsistant, but is often wonderfully unique.
This inked style is my personal favorite:
http://www.drunkduck.com/So_Bored/index.php?p=117042

For me, pages like this bring down the overall quality artwise:
http://www.drunkduck.com/So_Bored/index.php?p=117042

I'd like to see them all completely inked like the first one.

I love this page:
http://www.drunkduck.com/So_Bored/index.php?p=130659
I also like the fonts and lettering used in the dialogue. They fit very well with the illustrations.

I'm not too fond of the pages that use color - I think the B&W works best for the series, unless you find another way of adding color than just flat fills. That's just my personal opinion

The writing makes me wonder a bit if it is translated from another language and the jokes don't always make sense.
Or it could be that I'm too old to get some of it. ;-)
I like the drinking poem. Very true. :-)

OVerall 4/5 I think this series has a great deal of potential, just needs a bit of polish and attention to detail.

Thanks, for commenting on So_Bored. :) This really gives me more hope about my work since SB is more of an experiment actually and I just use it for when I'm... well, bored. Tough I am kind of proud about some of the pages I did. I think a 4/5 rating is way too high by the way, but I'm thankful for it! ^^
And about the whole 'translation'-thing, as you might know I'm not American or anything, so I try to do my best, but these pages really are only for the DrunkDuck, none of the comics have been made in a different language. If you don't get the jokes it's probably my fault. I'm kinda weird.. :P

About your comics: I already seem to know them. Talismen: Return of the Exile is on my DD-favorites list. I haven't been able to read all of it, because I've been abscent for a while and it's a little too much text for me to read in one day (I'm a very slow reader).

But, I'm nothing but positive about your comics here. It all looks so professional! The art, the coloring, the lay-out! For me it might be too much to read but it isn't more than in a regular comic book so that isn't any problem really. If I should name one thing that I don't like about it it would be the DD weblay-out of it, with that grey/brownish background. But that doesn't affect the comic itself and the weblay-out of Xylia looks fine.
Your new comic (Xylia) seems even more interesting to me, again I love the art and also the atmosphere very good! I'll definatly try to keep up with this one.

I wish I could devide this into pros and cons, but there isn't that much wrong about your comic, and the things that are good about is are mostly even GREAT! So err, you should be VERY proud about it! And I'm sure you already are ;)

Art: 3/5

Pros: Cartoony style. Your drawings get progressively better, and when you put the effort into it, it shows.

Cons: On the same note.. when you get lazy with a page it shows as well and it seems like you take 1 step forward and 2 steps backword on the bad pages.

Story: 4/5

Pros: Nice Anthology-esque sort of comic strip. No ongoing story, so there's no need to be intimidated by the amount of pages you have. Nice gags here and there. I also like how you call back to some of your other stories you have going on.

Cons: This may have something to do with the art.. but when you have too much text in your more scratchy drawings, it makes me not want to read it and move on to a different one.

On Human City

Art:

Pros:
Great anatomy for the most part and awesome perspectives. Also emotion is shown very vividly and the gray tones work very well with the artistic stylings.

Cons: Sometime facial anatomy seems awkward and the panels are a bit rough but then again they add to the over all tone of the comic so I suppose that can be overlooked.

Rating 4.4/5

Writing

Pros: It seems to roll well together and the story line in general sets a nice tone.

Cons: It can be a bit wordy and confusing more often than not. Some aspects seem a bit cliche and the plot goes a bit fast most of the time.

Rating 3/5

OVERALL RATING: 3.8/5

Give the plot time to unfold before jumping right into it and I'm sure it'll flow a lot smoother.

Corpsetown:

Ooh I like this one! the style fits the storyline and reminds me of tim burton (which I love XD) the colours all fit the mood and tone of the story excellently and the layout/colours/backgrounds of the actual webpage serves to enhance that.

although, the proportions and poses of the people- err- corpses don't look quite right so definitely work on that some XD

the dialogue is hard to follow at times O.o it seems to jump around a lot.

the story is interesting and unique ^-^ I really like the whole concept so I fav-ed it.

3.75/5

Dreams of 1337ness:

Well I'm a gamer so I enjoy this out of principle XD

there is some improvement seen in the first to the latest pages and once again, the artwork is not quite proportioned or posed right, I think the shadows are off O.o and the colours are very bright! You've got a lot of primary colours.

again, the story and dialogue is a bit hard to follow at times- it goes up and down XD but the jokes are funny ^-^

overall I prefer your other story.

Contemporary Eclipse:

The black and white style is fitting for most manga stories, and the minimalist approach to the backgrounds helps keep the focus on your characters - however, backgrounds are usually established on each page, so the reader does not get lost.

Some of the anatomy (or more appropriately, the perspective shots) are a little off . This only shows up ever so often, so if you can nip it when it does crop up your pages will be stronger for it.

The doalogue seems pretty good. Although I haven't been able to read more than a handful of pages, I'm interested to see what the story it actually about.

@$$hole!:

Pros: Your art is pretty good, and your facial expressions are great, adding a lot to the dialog, which thankfully doesn't rely on pop culture references as much as many other webcomics do. You excel at surreal humor, and there just aren't enough references to late-60's British television in webcomics these days.

Cons: You have a slight tendency to be heavy-handed in some of your jokes, like the Tim Story or George Bush comics (even though I agree with you on both points), and...that's about it. There isn't much to criticize. Nice job.

Because I did Awesomataz last time, I'll rate Smoke Manmuscle, PI this time.

Pros: The strip is pretty funny at times, and certainly random - and I do enjoy a good bought of random. Also, the strip has a crap-ton of pages in the archive, giving readers lots of enjoyment going through them.

Cons: Well, it's sort of a con, but the MS Paint looking artwork can appear a little unprofessional - but at the same time, I think that it really fits the theme of the pages. The very random subject matter seems almost complimented by the simplistic but interesting art style. I'm not entirely sure that the art is a con, but I couldn't come up with anything else for improvement at this point.

Decided to jump into this.

For Trevoramuellers comic 'Temple of a Thousand Tears'.

Pros: You got a lot of good ideas going through here. Great character designs, intersting backround stories, and well use of BBLLLOOOODDDD. *I loved how you did the panal where the one bandit got his hand chopped off.*

Cons: I kinda felt that the story was a little rushed, would of liked to see some more character development and a little more plot. And I would of liked to have seen some more backround art in the story. And BBLLOOOOOODDDD.

Otherwise, I like the ideas your have, and hope that you'll countion this story!
