LIZARD_B1TESame here. It's an inherently stupid term, implying deeper differences than actually exist in any sort of realistic sense. I had this friend who used to say that there were only "4 races in the world"... Of course they were all made up of 19thC colour stereotypes: white people, black people, yellow people, and red people. If you didn't fit in those, that's because you were a mix of two of them.
I absolutely hate the term "race". It just seems to me that it implies that different color=different species. That's just crap.
Yeah, it was an imbecilic, childish theory, and he was an idiot.
Even the commonly used terms "black and white" are extremely problematic: Every single person world wide with dark skin are all part of one unified group? Every single light skinned person of European or Slavic origin are all the same? Hardly.
