For some reason I can hardly connect to any games.

I'm able to get online and to the lobby but actually excessing a game(match) is impossible. And then if I'm lucky enough to get in one, I'll suddenly just disconnect for no reason. One time the game actually restarted itself.

Can anyone help me? I have no idea what's going on.

Edit: It is also happening with MGS: Portable Ops.

If you're getting the problem on multiple games, then it probaby isn't the game that's the issue. Also, if you can access anything online from the PSP, I doubt the problem is the system. You may need to go into more detail about your internet connection, router, and what you may be running on the side.

The internet is working fine.

My ISP is Verizon. I'm running DSL over a Wireless Router. A Westell.

DSL can be a little spotty when you're trying to run online games, especially if you're running anything else at the same time (like AIM, torrents, etc). Another problem you may have is the router. Westell and Linksys routers are known for having issues with the PSP and PS3. Plus Sony products in general are a bit more picky when it comes to your network setup than other systems. You might want to try running a google search on "PSP" and whatever model number your router is.

The thing is right up until this month things were working perfectly, never had any problem. Don't know what's going on now.

It's a Westell VersaLink Model: 347W

Do you use any bit torrent clients? A lot of people seem to have issues with the Westell routers and P2P software. BT clients tend to open up a large number of connections and the Westells generally can't handle it and force a reboot of the router, sometimes even when downloads are stopped or the program isn't running. It's a problem that may not be recognizable when you're surfing the web since the reboot usually only takes a few seconds, but it's enough to break connections on online games.

Also, keep in mind that if you are using a P2P program, that limiting the download and upload speeds doesn't necessarily free up the rest of your bandwidth and that bandwidth for uploading always has a tighter bottleneck than for downloading and you need both to play games online.

Gnerally, though, I see a lot of people online having issues with the versalink routers disconnecting. Seems a lot of people are under the impression that they just aren't very good routers.
