I guess it's been confirmed that Johnny Depp is going to play Freddie Mercury, the late singer of Queen, in an upcoming movie about the band! Normally I'd be all "duh?!" but I actually think Depp can pull that off. I hope he proves me right.
Plus I grew up listening to Queen and am just looking forward to the movie. The Queen members themselves have a say in it (and were the ones who chose Depp), so that gives me hope that it isn't going to suck.

As a really hardcore Queen fan,
I'm not going to see that movie.
I don't want to see Freddie die again.
And I don't want to see it ruined like Hollywood always does...
...plus I'm one of the few girls disenchanted with Johnny Depp.

Perhaps it will be dumb, I don't know...but I'm going to look forward to it since Brian May and the others are involved.

Hahaha
Following the usual remake transformation freddie will be like this:
but seriously, who's the director?
maybe is not that bad, like "almost famous". I liked that movie.

Personally, I've never been let down by Depp. Some of his movies were lackluster or hokey, but Depp's performance in them has always been top notch.

yeah, like in "sweet and lowdown", he did a great performance there. But I think it depends more on director and writer, like "being john malkovitch". I usually hate cameron diaz and don't care about cusak, but I loved them in that movie.
Speaking of queen, what album have you listened to the most times?
I was totally astonished when I listened to Queen II, but I think I listened to "sheer heart attack" like a thousand times. Innuendo is excellent, but I don't like the whole album.

Well, Johnny usually does brighten up every movie he's in(although I really didn't like his Willie Wonka.) But not only that, he tends to make most of the other actors look like crap.

I wouldn't like to see Dep in that role... I'm not sure why, I just wouldn't. But I'm sure he'd do a marvelous job. I'd hope he'd bulk up his cheeks a bit though; Freddy definitely did not have hollow cheeks or sharp cheek bones, he had a solidly squarish, even sometimes rounded face.
