Bulemia counts as a medical condition? Fuck.

Although I would laugh if her medical condition was a stab wound.

mlai: She got a DUI.

I found it quite funny when chef told me that she has a website where you can vote for her not to go to jail. she clams that, her being so 'beautiful' that if she went to jail it would be a dis-service to men all over the world.
I dont find her attractive in any way. She should go to jail. Justice should not be able to change depending on wealth/race/religion/anything.
She should go back...infact she never should of come out.

Its a shame she will get the Hilton hotels. there great hotels.

Read the Author, its good i promise.

Whats REALLY funny is the judge that did the ruling said that Hilton could not serve her sentance in a special ward in prison or have it changed to house arrest.

They said fuck his verdict.

Wow...3 days in jail. That was anti-climatic.

Im surprised that this is even a surprise to anybody.

Though I am shocked she served any jail time at all.

Supposedly from what I heard she originally had her sentence cut in half for good behaviour. But because she's now serving her sentence in house arrest instead of in jail, her original sentence was reinstated and she now has to serve the remaining 40 days.

I think my whole view of the situation is coloured by the fact that Paris Hilton's house is not like the house of an average American. So I have to think of it this way:

A person was sentenced to 45 days in jail for driving under the influence. The person's sentence was then cut in half for good behaviour. If the person has a medical condition however, would it be fair for this person to serve the rest of their sentence in house arrest provided that they serve the full sentence instead of the reduced one?

Disregarding the fact that this is Paris Hilton, I don't know...doesn't seem that unfair to me.

She probably just isn't capable of living in a prison. I know most people all over the world think that prison would suck, but it would be manageable. But if you were a rich heiress with everything that Paris has, living in prison would be pretty horrible. Like most people's idea of living in a POW camp in Vietnam, or a 3-day stay in a sensory deprivation tank or something.

I know no one is inclined to be sympathetic to rich people (especially people like Paris whose fame don't seem to have any justification or redeeming value), but it is a fact that everyone's lives, upbringings, situations, and coping skills are different. There are probably mental health concerns, and while it isn't the Justice department's business to worry about people's potential emotional or health damage, she is being treated carefully because she is of course a celebrity.

The judge wanted to make a point and he did, the world has its satisfaction in sending a hated (yet not so hated that people can just ignore her apparently) person to someplace they know she'll hate, and regular folks have the satisfaction of knowing that THEY could manage in prison just FINE thanks, not like SOME spoiled princesses.

what black Kitty said DOES make a lot of sense. If you were simply to ask someone a hypothetical question like that and not mention that it was Paris Hilton, it wouldn't be too unreasonable.

But the problem arises that Paris Hilton isn't just a public figure, she's (Unfortunately) a role model to young pre-teen and teenage girls that see her 'glamorous lifestyle' and want to be like that because she's 'hot' and 'popular.' I think the reason any prosecutor would be so dead set for her serving the full sentence is to make a statement to young people who actually look up to this woman that being rich and famous doesn't mean you get away with being irresponsible and do\ stupid things.

Am I suprised that she isn't serving the full jail sentence? No. I'm not suprised at all. Am I dissapointed? Greatly.

Man... You guys need genuine royalty to hate/faun over, not these trashy silicon implant versions of fake royalty: the REAL sort!

Yes I know, it might be a bit saggier and the shape's not always "perfect", but it feels real, and in the end there's no substitute for the real thing. ;)

I wouldn't mind.

All I can say is is that if she doesn't go back, there are about 10 gajillion people who are gonna be pissed, some of them being the higher-ups in other countries.

Yeah, what do you think will happen then?

Whilst what Black Kitty said makes a lot of rational sense, I'd rather see a good dose of judicial vigilantism that sees her locked up.

So what if its detrimental to the fair practice of law? So is this.

This just goes to show how jacked up our "Justice" system is. It basically says that if you're poor, you go to jail. However, if you're rich, you walk. It's absolute B.S.!

Someone
So apparently Paris Hilton's medical condition was purely psychological and she was released from jail because she was in danger of having a nervous breakdown. TMZ reports:

Psychiatrist Charles Sophy visited Hilton in jail yesterday and the day before. We're told after Sophy's visit yesterday, word was passed to the Sheriff that Hilton's mental state was fragile and she was at risk. The reason for releasing her had nothing to do with a rash or other physical issues. It was purely in her head.

So the big medical reason that got Paris Hilton released was that she wasn't happy in jail. Which, I always thought, was sort of the whole point. The moral of the story is: if you're ever put in jail just put on a frowny face and they'll let you go. Oh, and make sure you're Paris Hilton. That last part's pretty important.

hopefully this will put her back to jail
Someone
Delgadillo says in a statement: "Today I was extremely troubled to learn that the Sheriff's Department has decided to release Ms. Hilton from custody just three days after she was admitted to county jail.

"Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds.

"I am also concerned that the judicial process may have been improperly circumvented in this case. I have directed my criminal branch to immediately explore all possible legal options to ensure that the law is being applied equally and justly in this case.

"If law enforcement officials are to enjoy the respect of those we are charged with protecting, we cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment."

Civil rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton is also highly critical of Hilton's early release.

He says, "This early release gives all the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color.

"There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released."

.......

I know this is going to sound rude and sexual...

...but I think the REAL reason she was let out early is because she did the sheriff.

I mean, come on. It's Paris Hilton!

Someone
Hilton's reassignment sparked outrage across the nation; the L.A. Board of Supervisors alone received more than 500 angry calls, e-mails and faxes by Thursday afternoon. At least two of the supervisors demanded an investigation.

Sheriff Lee Baca, who ultimately approved Hilton's transfer, defended his decision, telling the Los Angeles Times that "the minute I was informed by the doctors about her medical condition, I realized the system was not able to respond effectively to these problems."

He added that her three-day incarceration was more than what most people guilty of violating probation would receive.

"We did what is best and what is justice," Baca added.

i blame Sheriff Leroy D. Baca. watch for him to open a cayman or swiss account somewhere and retire off the money that the hiltons gave him to free their daughter.
