The only beef I have with PS3 is how they failed to come through with their backwards compatibility. I loved that you could play PS1 on PS2 and they promised that their third console could play all the old games. But then they removed the hardware that could play the old games out. To me, it felt like they were breaking a promise that they made.
360 compatibility issue is similar. It can only play the most popular X-Box original games.

save your money until the PS3 price drops later this year, even though it's completely worth the money now.

PS3, it has a lot more power therefore, better graphics and a lot more potential with what can be done with it. Also, if you play online cost isn't an issue since Xbox live costs money while the PS3 network does not.
Xbox also seems to have more teabaggers.
I've never actually been able to get my PS3 to go online. But hey it's free, so who cares if it doesn't actually work?
My PS3 actually died when we went online with it. We got a new one and my dad decreed that we shall never use the online feature again. :(

Eh, as a system, I like both. Maybe 360 a lil more, if just for the games library.
i say the 360 is better

Simple: if you plan on playing online, take an xbox.
I think it has more advantages than the ps3
The ps3 cost too much for me.
And there's only a few "ps3" exclusives.
Usually when a game come out, it comes out on Ps3, Xbox360, and PC.
Unless there's games you TOTALLY WANT on pS3, like Infamous, etc, you should try the 360. And if you're a bit of a geek, you can take a xbox360 on ebay, and upgrade it. Durp.

Which still costs more than just buying a new one. At least the PS3 doesn't force you into proprietary hardware for the wireless and hard drive. Plus both connection types for online are built in so you can get the faster connection speed with the lan line or the convnience of wifi without having to pay for an adapter.
Honestly, I've only ever had one hiccup with getting the PS3 online and I'm not even sure that is an issue, anymore. I still get faster connections speeds on my PS3 games and there are far more exclusives I want to play on the system. Most 360 "exclusives" I can get for my PC cheaper and they'll look better and the updates and add-ons are more likely to be free.

Mine can still play classic titles. I even built up my library a bit with the MGS Essential Collection, Persona 3 and 4, and God Hand. Boy backwards compatability sure is the life :smug:

Well as far as I know, the red ring issue has been fixed. Isukun may disagree but I've read many articles about such announcements and I'm more inclined to believe them.
Those were my two cents.

I was actually thinking about get a 360 by the end of the year, but they still need to solve the Red Circle of Death issue...A friend of mine had to get rid of his SECOND 360 in 2 years because of this...
So I think that I will either wait for the PS3 price dropping or wait until the 360 becomes more reliable.
Either way, I will stay playing my SNES and Genesis emulators for awhile...

And I tend to believe my eyes and the many more articles which note that the still large number of systems breaking down does in fact mean that the problem has not been fixed. In fact, Microsoft never said the system was fixed, just that the failure rate had dropped.
Even with that announcement, though, a study done around the same time still found that 1 in 6 systems failed during the 10 month period of the study (estimated numbers would be higher since people tend to own the system over a longer period of time). The study was done with the newer model 360's with the newer chips and the larger heat sinks.
But go ahead, continue to believe a myth that even the manufacturer does not believe and which any gamestop employee can tell you is blatantly false.

Well there's no need being rude.
I actually do talk to game store employees from time to time. They've mostly been pro 360. Although I do know one die hard PS3 fan...

Nah, I did it and it didn't cost much, seriously.
But you have to be a geek and open the whole thing.
If you don't know what to do, SURE you'll pay much more than a new one.
But if you don't know what to do, why trying to hack it, anyway?
