Cartoon Network aired the last episode of Powerpuff Girls today, after about a 5 year absense of no new episodes at all. This will be included on the new complete series box set they have out this week. Definately the best episode they did since the first 2 seasons.

I always loved Mojo Jojo best.
PP girls was best in the early seasons when the focus was on the retro look and fun, before they tried to make it into it what it was largely parodying: A girly, girly cartoon for little girls.
That was weak.

It'd have been foolish not to. That was their market. I think there was always a level of parody there though. The fact that I was able to get my football player buddies in high school quoting it though shows what a great show it really was. Craig Mccracken, is a genius man. Everything he touches turns to gold. He does a great job making cartoons fun for all age groups.

craig mccracken+genndy tartakovsky=the golden age of cartoon network that will never be equaled. dexters lab, samurai jack, johnny bravo and the powderpuffs. along with cow and chicken, those were my favorite shows.
damn, though, look at that fancy animation for the last ep. that shit got real lol.

kingofsnakeNo it wasn't. It became their market: that's the point. ;)

The change was very easy to spot. The show went from being a little naughty and risque (personaloties of all the villains, the professor and his habits, the mayor and his sexy secretary etc, etc.), to being entirely what it looked like.
It would have focussed on the same marjet as the rest of those Tartakovsky type cartoons originally.

I missed a lot of the show, thanks to not having cable until about six years ago. But what I have seen, I have enjoyed. And I also enjoyed that last episode. I wish it was a little slower-paced, though. I hope to get the full series boxed set soon when it gets to stores.

I've noticed that for at least the last 3 years, Cartoon Network has chosen MLK Day as the day they run a series finale of something. Last year was Kids Next Door, and the year before that it was Teen Titans. Hopefully, they'll do something decent for Dexter's Laboratory, or at least cancel Clone Wars by then.

Clone Wars has 100 episodes to go through.

Dexter ended long ago when Tartakovsky left the show...I can't stand the newer episodes of that show...the animation and the writing dropped 100%

Wait...is Mojo doing a cover for Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World?" That's awesome.
I have always been a fan of Craig McKracken and the Powerpuff Girls, not to mention Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends...oh and don't forget No Neck Joe . I love his unique style. I had the rare opportunity to shake his hand and plug my art to him several years ago, when the PPG movie came out.
I will always like Him the best. I loved the eerie music they played when he appeared in an episode. I believe the same guy who did the voice for The Professor (Tom Kane), did the voice for Him. Oh, and Sedusa was cool. ...And let's not forget the Talking Dog, who I'm pretty sure was in every single episode, one way or another.
Oh and holy crap, look what I found....an Anime version of the Powerpuff Girls, called "Powerpuff Girls Z ."

Ew, I don't like those fandub voices.
Try this one, it's got the original voices, I think :)

Much better. The only thing worse than American anime/game dubbing is fan dubbing. Not that the voice work in PPGZ is spectacular or anything, but at least it's mixed properly and Bubbles doesn't sound completely awful.
The anime in general wasn't terrible. At least the villains for the most part seemed about right. The pilot had much better animation, though.

There's a little too much pedofillia in that, even for an anime.

You know, I've watched a whole bunch of those powerpuff z episodes. Pedophilia is really only there when you look for it, so I suggest stop trying to find it and you'll see the show is pretty innocent. ;)

At least more so than Sailor Moon ever was. And damn, Minky Momo had far too many panty shots for a show about a 12-year-old.
It really isn't any worse in terms of sex appeal than any other magical girl show these days. Try watching Pretty Cure with its subtle yuri subtext (or Card Captor Sakura with its blatant yuri themes) or Nanoha which can have some pretty sketchy visuals at times. You want real pedo-bait, there are also the completely blatant shows like Moe-tan or Elfen Lied.

I've seen this show and as much as I loved the powerpuff girls original, these ain't that bad. They redid the origin story to make it "slightly" more believable. If you can make it past the first episode (which is in my opinion ridiculous) then I recommend watching it. I do hate the new Mojo Jojo however. The original Mojo is way cooler than this guy. Seriously, ALL that this guy thinks about is stuffing his face. What makes it more annoying is that raiding the local diner is apparently the first phase in his world domination plan.
Seriously, this is his Master plan that he uses every single time:
Step one. Eat
Step two. ? (we never get to this part)
Step three. World domination
I have to admit it. Him as an awesome intro in this opening.
Those Japs sure love their giant robots. ^^
Also: Pedophilia and Bestiality. Together at last.I'm saying that because this Werewolf guy is blossoms boyfriend.

I do seem to recall an original PPG episode where there was a robot version of the girls running around and destroying Townsville. Kind of like a PPG version of Voltron. The episode was the Season 1 finale and was called "Uh Oh...Dynamo":
Anyway I think that's why that robot was included in the "Z" intro...

The robot also makes it's debut in the last episodes of the Japanese show.
It's a time machine ^^

Heh. That's a hilarious comic. It's like someone ate the entire Cartoon network studios and then some and then threw up on a paper. I mean Samurai Jack is their gym teacher and Invader Zim is trying to defeat them.

Oh and I personally don't like Power Puff Girls Z. I mean it is an interesting concept but they could have atleast stayed true to the original story a little bit. The girls aren't even sisters for crying out loud!
