Eunice P
The all time favorite classic Chinese manga since 1962.
http://www.oldmasterq.com/
Oh yeah... I remember this.
I never really liked it... It's just so famous and ubiquitous, that as a kid I had no choice but to read it. I preferred Doraemon over that. But my parents tried to clamp down on me reading manga cuz it's Japanese-created.
But the big arc where the trio went back in time to Ancient China... Heh, that was great no matter what.
Edit: Um, for you non-Asians... This does not mean me and Eunice were born in 1962... :P

It was not by chance that OMQ is famous. The artist who did OMQ went through a lot of hardship making this comic.
First is that the artist used to live solely on drawing comics for the editorials in order to put food on the plate for his family. He was living in poverty back then and the pay for an average comic artist in the past is considerably poor. It was said that as soon as he's awake, he would whip out his pen and kept on drawing without rest, churning out as many pages as he could over the decades. He worked so hard to the point that he hardly talked to his kids while he's fully concentrated on his work. He even forbid his children to be comic artists because it was a really tough and painful job with very little earning. To date, he had single-handedly drawn over 400 volumes (more than 18,000 pages) of OMQ.
Second is the content of OMQ that appeals to people from all backgrounds. People who don't read comics or people who are illiterate can actually appreciate the OMQ since 85% of OMQ is a silent comic.
My mom told me that there are lots of other similar versions of OMQ circulating after WWII. In fact, the comic style and idea of OMQ was not original but of all the comics from that era in HK, OMQ is one of the few that survives through time. As OMQ gets famous, his hard work finally paid off. The artist is currently residing in US and is possibly one of the richest retired cartoonists from China with yearly profits of few of the most popular Japanese manga artists combined.
Here's the rest of the info about OMQ if you're interested. http://www.taiwan.com.au/Soccul/Media/Books/2008/0104.html
