Yeah, so here's my comic. It's still in it's infancy, and it's undergone a LOT of changes, but the style and tone is set now, so the last few comics would be the ones to go by as far as expecting what future installments would entail.

Theres plenty of similar content to penis.

Stuff like Elftor and Zxipi, two webcomics better than anything anybody on this site ever dreamed of making. Mall Monkeys was another one. Of course, those comics ended and none of them updated as much as penis. Or did super long comics. Or had the stones to make Tranny a major recurring character.

I'd like to think Werewolf is the clean cut sister of penis. I'm going to feature long-form comic stories, done penis style over there. Stuff that starts in penis and then ends over there. Not the sort of dragged out awful stories in penis, but the ones that actually have some structure to them. It currently would appeal to fans of extreme violence, the horror genre, and of course my own niche fan base.

The thing about advertising with me, I can be bought. For the right amount of money I would have the characters in the comics plugging things.

People that love color and pretty art and chicks.

-some web comics similar to yours that have ads at their site

Skulldog has art similar to yours when she really wants to get detailed. Story...not so much.

this poor guy, everybody wants a free review.
i never thought it was that hard to figure out demographics. i think we all honestly know who would like our comics, and from that it's not hard to create a banner that attracts them. however, the most valuable information is comics that offer ads on their sites. i've got to applaud JillyFoo for the effort put in.

Some thought might want to be given to others other than Jillyfoo to do estimating of your potential as the last review was in early December.

Don't be afraid to critique each other. Otherwise, we're just piling up on each other.

Okay. Totally at random, I chose Novusgenesis Libro.

It's a scifi action comic written (unfortunately for me) in spanish.

I like the style. It's not quite manga which, to me, is good (too much sameness is boring) but it's manga enough to appeal to both that audience and the more old school readers as well.

If I had this book, I wouldn't just advertise on comic sites but on gaming sites and on straight scifi sites as well. I wish I could read it. if the text is as good as the art, it's really something.

I think, and this isn't a knock, that the vast majority of people on Drunkduck are english speakers so a comic done entirely in spanish is going to put a large number of them off. Not sure what can be done about that aspect (I'd never tell anyone to change their work) but, I think it would be difficult to market an english-only comic in Italy or Spain or Egypt.

I say hit the scifi aspect hard and don't limit yourself to the comics audience when setting up banners.

Cool?

Wow, this is a great idea indeed. *nod nod*
I'm hoping to eventually post ads of my comic maybe, but currently I can't do this because I don't have a job. :/
But! I still wanna know what to put in an add and what kinda people like my comic. I've noticed on onlinecomics.net, the people who favorite my comic tend to have Yaoi and Shonen-ai, hillariously enough. *nod nod*

Winterman

Ok Winterman, I checked out your comic! It was deffinetly a strange adventure to read it. I didn't know entirely what your "Penciler test" idea was until I got to the next comic. I do like the idea of your practice in the form of short comics, however it does make you very HARD to classify as to who to market towards other than random comic readers. I wouldn't say Manga readers even though the greyscale resembles "manga tones" it is not manga styled or storied. I would more likely target your adudience towards preteen-adult male and even some female readers of the comic nature. Perhaps sci-fi fantasy, and deffinetly the action/adventure genre. Because it is an accumilation of different styles and different stories sticking around comic websites like this for advertising might be your best bet. Otherwise I'd look for similar comics in those genres and see abuot link exchanges and promotional opportunities.

My encouragement to you would be... nail down a style and nail it well. I think people in general like "different" in the sense of unique more than "Always changing" and If you do nail down a style and perhaps a more ongoing story that draws people in and holds them there, then you'll better be able to get a sense of who your target audience is and where to advertise/market yourself.

Just my two cents! Hope I've helped a little.
