AOL assigns every user a unique number aside from an IP address. These numbers are monitored for what they search for and then sold off to other companies. AOL claims that no personal information is sold, but come on...

I know what you mean. Some of the posters are really clever and are fun to read but some people think that if you make a so-so piture into a poster it will make it funny when more often then not it doesn't.

Read it more carefully; the story is abut some Indian and pakistani shopkeepers not putting the ad up in their windows in Britain. Nothing upsetting or even interesting. The thing has been made out to be something more exciting in order to rile up racists.

The journalists aren't trying to "rile up the racists". Fact of the matter is, that's exactly why they get the "We're so sorry" reaction. Besides, it's not racism if it doesn't have anything to do with race.

Yes it does. It's in England man. Most Muslims there are pakistani. There's a long history of hating Pakistanis. And yep, that's what the journalists are doing, there's no story. The only thing that's happening is some people not putting a shitty ad in the window of their corner deli. You're being a bit niave if yo play into this stuff. ;)

Caucasian is a myth. There are no "races" anyway, all that is a social construction.

But in Britain, people traditionally don't like Pakistanis. They call that "racism". Most shopkeepers who are Muslim are Pakistani although will increasingly be other groups like Kurds. I understand that YOU are very ignorant about those things. ;)

And yes, this story is as I've claimed,, designed to stir up people and designed to incite racism and prejudice. Especially in people predisposed to that sort of thing...
You'd HAVE to be to get angry that a few shopkeepers don't want a dumb ad in the window of their deli. That's so sad... lol!

as a brit in a 40% pakistani muslim college, I hope ya don't mind if I stick my oar in as it were... now! I read this in my paper the other day (talk about local discussion) to begin, yeah, most shopkeepers are muslim so this was an epic waste of resources; and furthermore, "britons" are indeed inherently racist (a vast majority anyway, there's a massive history of it, ever heard powell's "rivers of blood" speech?). and this was in a tabloid, so it's really aimed at the racist bigots who stand outside the pub all day and complain, give them something else to complain about.
