I do still see the occasional poster attempting to be hurtful more so than helpful - which, let's be honest, the hurtful people can be the most helpful if they are willing to take the time to post about how to make improvements.
Which is a very large "IF."
I try to sandwich my feedback like this:
1) something I like or something unique
2) something that could be done better or ways to improve certain things
3) and overall feel for the comic based on what I like
I suppose that you could easily switch in another thing you like in the 3rd spot there, which leaves your comment in a positive note. And in truth we should encourage each other - even if someone's style doesn't mesh with our own preferences. Not everything is going to appeal to everyone.
More often than not, in the 2 weeks I've been on here, I've had a pretty positive experience.

The worst thing anyone ever said about my comic is now deleted by moderators. I really don't remember what it said but it was awful. It made me want to quit DD. :(

When we were peddling the denim avenger at Wizard's world Philly, I tried to remember as many comments as I could, so that I could take the worst ones and print them on the back of the next issue. I only committed two to memory:
"These guys are a couple of A--holes"
and
"it's like a bad vegetable"

and
