anyone out there that are as sad as me who still enjoy playing the older pokemon games, such as Red, Blue, and Yellow, and know all about the missingo, M and Mew glitches? And do yuo also remember screaming "NINTENDOO SIXTY FOOOOUUUUURRR!!!" and then wetting your pants when you saw your parents got you "Pokemon stadium" at the peak of pokemon phenomenon?
yur. I <3 retro pokemon stuffs. PLEASE don't talk about anything after Pokemon crystal (e.g, Ruby and Sapphire, and after that), cuz they just don't have the same feel as the old games do. X3

Well, I played Pokemon Diamond for a little while. They had a little too much fun with the ability to keep track of day and night... it kinda felt like work sometimes, since you had to keep track of berries, which pokemon come out at which time, or whatever else. I traded it in not long after I got it.

Thinking back...the Gold/Silver/Crystal era had to be my favorite. It added a somewhat story element to the games, not just your typical ''You're 10 yrs old, go get a pokemon and catch them all''.

The game kind of freaked me out at some points, I don't know why but it just did. And the amount of Legendary/Rare Pokemon was just really cool.

But even before that, I loved Yellow Version. Why? The answer is simple, Pikachu. They should of continued doing something like that even after Yellow. And not just Pikachu, any Pokemon you want, outside and following you. Seemed interesting to me at the time, too bad they never continued doing that after Yellow Version.

Obviously, Yellow version is my favorite. I still absolutely love Ruby and Sapphire, thoguh. I honestly don't know why those games take so much critism compared to the other games. Of course, G/S/C has a crutch (still retro) and so does D/P (online play). I like to think of all the Pokemon games as being of equal quality with no one generation being better than the others.

Of course, Yellow still comes out on top. Sure, it's by a small margin, mostly for the reasons Blue Flame Studios listed.

But yeah, back on topic. During the Pokemon craze, I loved the Pokemon Stadium games for the N64 and always looked foreward to my friend bringing over a Transfer Pak (my parents wouldn't get me one).

Edit: Why the hell won't it let me type the "e with the line thingy on top" character???

I only ever played Pokemon Green and Pokemon Diamond. But I sure did get a lot of fun out of Pokemon Diamond. It's embarrassing how many hours I spent trying to catch them all, but it was ultimately quite pleasing and a great time killer during the bus ride to work.

Did you mean pokemon leafgreen or the actual pokemon green?

Actual Pokemon Green. I picked up a copy of it while living in Osaka. I never actually beat it, though I think I got six of the badges.

I know I've said it before, but I liked the R/B/Y era because of the glitch that lets you get a Mew.

And if someone says "U MAEN TEH TIHGN WIT TEH TROCK?" I will hunt them down and beat them to death with their keyboard.

I honestly don't know why you always seem to think anyone who disagrees with or otherwise annoys you types like that...

Anyway, although I enjoyed the old games, I don't really miss them. They were fairly shallow as one-player experiences; the real fun was from multiplayer. I guess that's why I traded in Diamond; nobody around to play with. I do wish, though, that some deeper games could get to the popularity Pokemon used to have. Back in the day if you met someone who owned a gameboy, odds are you could play a round of pokemon with them. Online is nice, sure, but it's just not the same...

I think it would of been better if Nintendo would get rid of that Friend Code crap. It really ruins the experience, you'd expect it to be like any regular online game but it isn't.

But if you know a bunch of people with the game or find some Battling Community online, you're good.

XD

I don't REALLY think that, it's just something that I do. I don't know WHY, but I do.

It's my endearing character trait that makes me memorable and interesting. :3

Also, I was serious about the keyboard.

OH GOD yeah, i know what you mean! "TEH TRUKC!!!1!" MY bloody bum! I tried that and proved everyone's theory wrong.
Then i worked out the glitch and then I became popular at primary school. now everyone laughs at my face for being such a sad little person still proud of knowing how to do it. n_n;

I realized that one of the reasons that Ruby and Sapphire lost some of the magic for me was that, unlike the previous generations, I looked up everything I could about it before it came out, so I knew what to expect, what new pokemon there were, etc.

For Diamond and Pearl, I kept myself totally in the dark about what it would feature on purpose and it helped bring some of the magic back when I couldn't tell what the new pokemon were like and the new areas and such. It worked for me, anyway, and I enjoyed catching all the new pokemon again just to see what they did.
