I play electric guitar, mostly Metallica stuff. I'm not that great but what the hell, it's a hobby.
What do you play?

I play the acoustic guitar and the banjo. I don't listen to country... almost at all though. But the banjo, it does make a nice sound that it doesn't get too much credit for. As for the guitar, I've got to practice more because I'm heavily relying on my voice. Oh... I play my voice too.

I play the trombone and keyboard.
I even played them for my Music exam, and passed with flying colours!
I also play the trombone in the school brass band.

I am a percussionist (or "drummer" for those of you who don't know what a "percussion" instrument is). I am currently working on playing with 4 mallets at once on the marimba/vibraphone. It's pretty fun!
I play my voice as well.
I can plunk out crap on the piano too.

I can play the sickest drum solos on my lap (using only my hands!) that you've ever heard. I don't need no drum set like that showoff Kieth Moon.

Nice variety. For a minute I was worried this thread would immediately be filled with those guys who get a guitar, and then they learn the first 10 seconds of a few songs they play on the radio too much. Then the girlfriend comes over and she's like, "Hey, you have a guitar. Can you play it?" Then the guy's like, "Yeah, I play". Then he plays the first ten seconds of a Weezer song and pretends he knows the rest of it but wants to stop. Then she asks if he can play that stupid song by the Plain White Tees, but he doesn't know it and he promises he'll learn it but really he's lying because he just wants to make out with her and he hopes it'll impress her. But really the only complete song he ever learns is the baseline to "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes because it's just seven notes played over and over again for the entire song.
I used to play the piano.

well, if you're a guitar noob, the coolest thing you could play would probably be the first 10 seconds of some random radio song.

That's pretty bad, but worse is the "empty guitar case" phenomena.

I play the electric guitar. I wouldn't say I suck, but I'm not that great either. I can play rhythm for lots of songs from beginning to end, most of them metal.
SomeoneActually, I've got a friend who has a Gibson Explorer but doesn't know how to play anything except the riff from "Smoke on the Water" (only if he tries really hard). And before that he had a Flying V.

I've been playing guitar for like maybe two or three years now. I also have other instruments (a keyboard, an electric organ, a Hohner melodica, a harmonica, and a little egg shaker) that I sometimes use for backup on songs that I record, but I wouldn't say that I'm proficient at any of them. Or the guitar, for that matter. ...I mean, I'm pretty good, I guess, but there are people in my school who are far, far better than me. Plus I don't really have any finesse.

I play drums, a menial amount of guitar, some keyboards, and I am one of those computer musicians. I make harsh experimental noise via an array of software synthesizers, sequencers, and signal generators.

I play electric bass guitar as my main instrument but I've also played keyboards/piano, electric and acoustic guitar and programmed electronic drums. My other artistic passion is music.
I was a terror in high school and college because I was obsessed with recording everything, even before I found out about four-track recorders. I spent a lot of time and money from a part-time job on studio time and production to record a solo album between 1988 and 1990. (I was 20 then.)
Now I play semi-regularly with the Christian band my wife and I are in and that keeps me musically happy. :)

Wow, there's a couple full bands worth of musicians here.
I play trombone and drums. My comic co-creator (grincomics) plays bass and we have a band - of sorts - together. I suck and he's awesome... so it's less a band and more him rockin'.

I can play 'Old MacDonald' on the keyboard.
That's pretty much it.
However, I do want to play the harmonica. And then learn to beatbox with it.

Playing guitar is my other obsession, I've played in way too many bands and way too many clubs. I play and sing in a band called Friendly Fire, all original rock influenced by bands like the Clash, Cheap Trick, and T-Rex. We used to play out a lot around town, but recently moved the act online, and we're going to start doing internt concerts in the virtual world Second Life and similar platforms. I don't want to pimp the band here, but if you google 'Friendly Fire Stunner' we're all over the place (Stunner is my stage name in the band).

I play the guitar a little, very VERY poorly, have been playing for under a year. I learned the opening riff to "Raining Blood", and "Seasons In the Abyss" by Slayer, and "Redneck Stomp" by Obituary.. And also one of the guitar solos in the Song "Demigod" by Behemoth. I have no training and I know I should get some, Im working on it.
