I don't know how, but I'm starting to wonder how the heck this is possible... or if it's a well executed hoax.

Just read the comments
There's also people who claim to have built it, but it didn't work.

The idea is that you present the N pole of the magnet to the disk, the N's on one edge are repulsed while the S's on the other edge are attracted, so the disk spins forever! Hooray!
This doesn't work because rotating a magnet from N to S within the field of another magnet takes work/energy. If you do the math, the flipping consumes more energy than the attraction and repulsion give.
There's also people who claim to have built it, but it didn't work.

It looks like it would work, but I'd like to see it in action in front of me before I believe it. Still, I'm tempted to try it just to see if it actually works. :)

I wouldn't, it's such a waste of time. If you bring a magnet close to it it has the same probability of spinning the other way than spinning the way you want it to (thereby eventually canceling each other out and not moving at all). Even if you did give it a starting push it would eventually slow down and barely move. Besides, don't you think the world's top scientists would have already tried something so simple. There's no such thing as infinite energy, people have been making things like this and hoaxing people for decades.

That guy's accent tells me that his little machine there does not actually work.

I think it's safe to assume that from his accent, yes.

Anyone else notice his rather womanly hands- very smooth, in good condition, with long pretty nails and a little gold ring.
