I love this game. Outrun (and Road Rash) are the kind of racing game I don't see much of anymore. Most racing games require you to race a certain amount of laps in a closed circuit. Outrun has you racing on a straight course. The farther you get, the more you get to see.

I have yet to try multiplayer though, so I don't know how that works. You do get to race a bunch of Ferraris, several soundtracks to play while you race (I would've loved the option to play your own music though), and 5 goals to reach. The run into forks in the road (when the road splits in two different directions, not the eating utensil) and whichever one you choose determines how hard your race will get. Haven't tried the other modes other than "Outrun" mode; apparently there's one mode where you try to impress the girl riding with you.

What bugs me right now is... What kind of woman would want to ride with a guy who drives at 300mph???

I remember Outrun! I could never get further than halfway through, though. I think that kind got replaced by those sit down linked racing machines.

Road Rash was kinda fun, although sort of shallow on the gameplay.

How about Chase HQ, where you drove the high performance car to catch up to a speeding criminal and keep ramming him off the road before the time ran out? Used to love that.

"You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process," he added. "That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."
