I thought of this yesterday. How about making it so that this forum can be opened up after the awards to the people that were judges?
So only people that volunteer to be judges can see what has been said in all categories. I wish I had thought of this earlier to promote more judges =p
What do you guys think?
If so I'll start a new thread where you have to tell me if you want access. After the awards are over I'll give you access. I can give access to last year's awards immediately!
This topic is at the awards forum as well

*raises hand* I wanna see! xD I've said before that I wanted too, haha. And last year's too, that would be so fun to read! :D
And of course, I think it's an awesome idea (for those who want to see). I think feedback is a great thing.

Personally, this is something I wouldn't mind seeing too! Since I was new to the whole judging thing this year, I think looking at other categories would prove to have its own constructive purposes.
The only thing I'd fear is that judges that also had a nomination might be a problem - do you think they'd fare well seeing criticism pick them apart in a competition setting? I'm just hoping there wouldn't be a backlash or resentment towards members that may have already commented thinking the author wouldn't have the ability to link a name with the opinion.

I don't fear the judges that had nominations really. I think all the judges we had at least could handle it. They are all really open minded and I think it'd help them get some nice feedback that could potentially help them. Also to note that I wouldn't open it by default. I'd make a thread on the forum and you'd have to tell me there that you would want access.
Right now I'm seeing if you all would like the idea. :)
My biggest fear is losing the trust of the panelists as well. I don't want any panelist to fear that later on their words could bite them. I want to know that in the future all panelists will still be truthful and speak their mind.
If an author does get mad and causes a scene after ASKING for permission to read what was said then I guess they shouldn't be a panelist and/or be eligible for nomination next time.
That's my opinion anyway. But I want to make sure if everyone else feels the same.
Also more discussions are happening on the forum

After further discussing it in the Awards forum we've decided not to do this. :)

I have to say though, allowing anonymous snippets to be posted could be alright. I should probably just get myself over to the other forums where the real discussion is going on. ;)
