Oooh, I'm tempted. My brother has a Wii, and Okami is so gorgeous that I'd probably get it even if it wasn't good - and since it is good, I probably will. :)

Do you REALLY think that they'll be able to make a port of an action game from PS2 be worthwhile on the Wii?

Really guys, don't get your hopes up.

Why, you think the Wii is technologically inferior to the PS2? Because it's not.

You don't know what you're talking about, Shplane. So far Okami has been getting reviews of 90%+ and very favorable reactions from the press. They say the visuals have been tweaked in the positive direction and the new widescreen mode is nice.

Pessimism.

Oddly enough, though, I've heard complaints about the drawing mechanic for the Wii version, which is odd, because it's much better suited for it than the PS2 version.

The only thing preventing me from purchasing this is if there is no difference in content from the PS2 version. As much as I love the game, I have no desire to purchase the same exact thing twice.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

I'm not saying it's "Inferior" technologically, I'm just saying that trying to take the controls of a PS2 game and translate them over to the Wii is probably going to result in some fuckups.

Well, I bought it yesterday and so far it works just fine. In fact, the brushstroke parts are pretty cool. I'm early in the game and maybe I haven't learned enough skills to outgrow the Wii controller, but I kind of doubt it. I'd like to call this game a success.

Actually, I've read/watched at least two reviews that say Okami is more at home on the Wii than it was on the PS2.
