So far it's a lot of people with a lot of ideas saying a lot of things. That's what we want (so we know what the community wants)... but something has to be done with that stuff.

What we need before we can go much further with the awards are some people (a committee of 3 or so people?) who are willing to review the ideas for rules/etc that people have put forward and come up with something cohesive. Then once we have 'something to start with', more feedback can be obtained and any changes can be made.

Just remember that it's pretty unlikely that any idea will be perfect, and that there will always be people who disagree with an idea/rule and reasons to do something and not to do something. :) So we need some people who are flexible, have some time on their hands, and who are willing to stick with it.

Just remember if you're an organizer, that doesn't necessarily mean that your ideas will get used (although you will have the advantage of being able to defend your suggestions to the other organizer committee members).

Anyone who wants to be on the organizer committee, please post in this thread. :) Once we have the volunteers it can be decided (by the admins, perhaps?) who is on the committee. I think we all want to feel good knowing that the people who end up as organizers are the people who want the job and we can trust to put together something nice that most of us can agree on.

I've made a post that I think lists an easy way the thing can run, that was made from different ideas. But I think you have a really good point. Several people need to sit down and think of how this thing will run. I would like to help, if thats ok.

Your capacity for pretention is near infinate. I dont volunteer for this because organisation is hard.

Well, Like I said, I'll help organize all of this. Though from the 14th-21st I'll be unable to get near a comp. Assuming the organization process doesn't cut through those days, I'm all in.

While I would make a horrible organizer, I would glady help format the ideas into somewhat attractive thread posts.

OK, organizers!

It looks like Le_Farce, PhatScurl, lukee, and PlayerOne will be the organizing committee. Basically we went for the people who have had a lot of ideas, who we see elsewhere on the forums, and who seemed the most interested in helping and oranizing. (And also people who weren't going on a vacation or just wanted to help with one thing, etc.) Don't take it too hard if we didn't pick you, we didn't want to pick too many or nothing would have ended up getting done. :) Also, I'll probably be the sort of admin overseer (just to check up on y'all and maybe suggest stuff or point things out if I think they need it.)

Divide stuff up how you wants, I've made a "DD Award Organizers" subforum which you four should see near the bottom of the forums list. I think the first order of business should perhaps be to come up with rules for nominating/submitting the comics, and then the process of narrowing the nominated comics down, and then voting. After that might come figuring out categories, and adjusting any rules to fit special categories.

Also, we'll need to figure out how the submissions and voting will take place - I don't think we'll be able to write any kind of secure web page, which might mean that someone has to deal with a bunch of e-mails. :/
