Hello Everyone, and welcome to the official Wizard World CHICAGO Thread! Here you will find updates on events and happenings to come. But first things first! Below you will find details on how to get your table space in the Drunk Duck Alley.
Wizard World Chicago: August 9-12
Registration is OPEN and will stay open until we're full!
Send a PQ to carly_mizzou with the title:
WW Chicago Sign Up
and include:
Real Name
User Name
(for yourself and any additional team members attending)
E-mail
Requested Day(s): Friday, Saturday, Sunday (in order of preference)
Shift: Morning or Afternoon
What to you plan to do?: (very basic description: just sketch? Sell your own materials, other?)
In terms of how space will be broken up I won't have details until I get an idea of how many people are requesting space.
Now to a few "parameters"
1. Users will be put on a list in the order I get their request (first come; first served) that being said please don't request space if you're not completely sure you'll be attending. After table space is assigned, any remaining users that don't get space will be put on a waiting list. If users cancel or other space is made available these users will be contacted to fill these spots.
2. All users will be equally considered regardless of skill level, comic genre, or format. (all are welcome!) -BUT-
You must contribute to an "active" comic at Drunk Duck. Meaning at least one comic with a few pages. No requirement here, just want to make sure we give the space to artists/writers looking to promote their work
You cannot promote comics/content that uses licensed characters; Spriters are welcome, but you must have your own creations to promote.
You cannot be promoting Adult Content
You must be a DD member in good standing (not banned; frozen; or flaming the heck outta people daily)
And that's all I can think of! (whew)
Space is limited, and we're going to do our best to make sure everyone who requests a spot can get it. But we don't want to leave anyone out of the fun! So if you don't get table space, or you're more of a "casual" user on Drunk Duck, you're more than welcome to come hang out at the DD Alley - this time around we'll also be hosting an actual Wizard World panel and having events in the DD Alley for all to enjoy.
I must add that I've attended at least 10 million conventions in Rosemont, and I'm totally jazzed about getting out to "mah hood" again!
See you in Chicago!

Wizard World is a series of conventions across America put on by Wizard (the Comics magazine). We have been fortunate enough to develop a relationship with them allowing us a series of tables within the Artist Alley section of the convention. The Alley is *the* place for artists of all levels to hang out, sell art, draw, and meet other artists (including well seasoned professionals). It's tons of fun, especially since DD has it's own home there.
and if you were being sarcastic...just ignore me! :)

we interrupt your regular programing for a special report!
Chicago Wizard World has an EXTRA day, they have preview night Thursday, from 4-7 and we have PLENTY of table space open here.
Chicago registration will close June 25th. :( But fear not as in the past you are always welcome down to the DD Alley and hang out, there's usually a spot open to sit down and sketch, and ALWAYS plenty of Red Bull and cookies to go around!
See the above post for sign up information!

Yes you are sir!
And registration for Chicago is closed....
What does this mean!?!?!
Well we CAN'T guarantee any table space or any mention in Wizard World Chicago Publications or Coverage.
So if you didn't sign up (that's OKAY) you are still welcome to come down to the show and hang out in the Drunk Duck alley. Just ask peeps like Cory the Terrible or dgriff13. you are more than welcome, and usually there's a way we can get you some art supplies and a place to draw (if that's what you like to do) or you can just hang out and participate in the events and games have going on, and then there's the ALL DAY GIVEAWAYS (can you say snazzy buttons? c'mon, I know you can!)
