I find the news pretty interesting because of the contrast between peoples' reactions to the girl.

One guy wants to buy her from the parents and put her in the circus.

The villagers, on the other hand, believe she is a sacred being, some sort of earthly manifestation of Lakshmi, for whom she is named. They even opposed the surgery, and still consider her sacred after it.

The doctors, on the other hand, have enough knowledge about this sort of thing to know that, if left untreated, she'd likely die before even becoming a teenager.

Then below that, at the time I was looking, another headline was "Israeli boy loses leg in Rocket attack". Huwah? Interesting news relationship... Losing limbs.

looks to me like a conjoined twin connected at eachothers undersides and the other twin just doesn't have a head.
