Oh god, really? Are we honestly going to consider "being a persuasive speaker" a form of hypnosis now? If that's the case, then Ozone is using hypnotism in his posts, because I tend to agree with him, even if he's saying something crazy.

Look, I'm not saying that Obama doesn't say things in a way that gets people to agree with him, with or without actual evidence to support his statements. But so does a Burger King commercial. This is like saying that parents "hypnotize" their children when they tell them about Santa Claus or The Tooth Fairy. I don't want to say that it's not dishonest, but using overdramatic terminology like "hypnotism" just makes the writer look reactionary and foolish.

This reminds me of that list of architects and engineers who said the world trade centers couldn't have fallen the way they did. I thought that was absolutely hilarious once I looked up some of the architects and found they were things like health care architects who would have no expertise in high-rise buildings.

Like bringing up families in relatively unrelated categories to stir up sympathy and using hand gestures to appear open and comforting. That and using catchy slogans that people can support without actually "supporting" any specific thing.

The "Penny Press" site it's hosted on seems to just be a haven for people who are too smug and opinionated for professional journalism.

It is not in the nature of his mind set to ever allow evidence to ever win over belief. According to him we're the dupes and he's the only one able to see the Truth.

The most overwhelming of evidence will only make him even more entrenched in his beliefs.

The beliefs are never challenged only the evidence disputed.

Ironic, I can find plenty of examples where this essay uses techniques designed to "hypnotize" the reader.

Adobe did well with Photoshop but it's always smurfed its smurfing PDF. It's a great format in many respects, especially for vector images and portable readable documents across all platforms (WAY better that shizzy MS Word), but it really needs better automatic file size management, and the way it handles on the web is a nightmare sometimes, depending on the browser or the document.

Doing Graphic Design the biggest issue I have is that it smurfs up the fonts people use! SUCH a pain! >:|
-If I don't have the font they used or if the PDF was created with any program other than illustrator or Adobe Acrobat.
That's so irritating because it doesn't have to do that. It KNOW'S exactly how the font should look and all it has to do it automatically convert it to outlines. But it doesn't.
The only way around it is to open the document in Photoshop and get that to render the font how it should look in raster format and then use that as a model in Illustrator to re-draw it. -_-

there's nothing wrong with PDFs. it's just that they have no place online and anyone that thinks they're something to link to is a soulless, baby murdering animal molester ad should be pummeled without mercy by all right-thinking protectors of freedom with their freedom bats.
