I'm always on the fence on Chibi art.
On one hand, the ocassional break from reality in a comic can be nice. However, if /everytime/ something funny happens all the character go cute..I have a hard time taking it seriously.
Now a comic done completely in cute art, would work much better. Of course, wouldn't you then want to toss in the occassional 'real drawing' to break from the humor? You know..reverse the cliche.

There is a certain level of chibification that can be appropriate for serious comics, sometimes its fine to have your characters mildly malformed and shrunken for comic relief, but oooften it is over done and horrid.
Of course you will. All intelligent beings dream. Nobody knows why.

There's an anime/manga called Mahoujin Guru Guru like that.. All the characters are chibis and then they have this serious drama spoof moment and they look all realistic and over dramatic.
