Together with Image Comics, Newsarama is brining you a week full of #1 issues from the publisher. That’s right – the full issues of titles you’ve probably heard of, but may have missed or been unable to find in your local shop.

First up: Fell #1 by Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith. The issue hit in September to a quick sellout, thanks in no small partt to the new format championed by Ellis: $1.99 for 16 pages of story.

The solicitation for the issue reads:

Detective Richard Fell is transferred over the bridge from the big city to Snowtown, a feral district whose police roster numbers three-and-a-half people (one detective has no legs). Dumped in this collapsing urban trashzone, Richard Fell is starting all over again. In a place where nothing seems to make any sense, Fell clings to the one thing he knows to be true: Everybody's hiding something. Even him.

It was real nice of them to provide free pages of story that is sized so small that it's almost impossible to read without squinting really hard.

Nice art though.

I could read it fine, the text was small but not painfully so.. and if you don't try to read it you don't know what you are missing.

FEAR AGENT #1: THE FULL ISSUE

Continuing our looks at full first issues of recent Image Comics, up today, Fear Agent #1, which originally shipped in November.

The solicitation for the issue reads:

written by RICK REMENDER art by TONY MOORE & SEAN PARSONS colors by LEE LOUGHRIDGE cover by TONY MOORE & RICK REMENDER

The Fear Agents are no more. Once known throughout the universe for driving three invading alien races from Earth, they stood as a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Now, Heath Huston drunkenly scuttles across the galaxy as an alien exterminator – the last of their ranks. Combining the aesthetic elements of all three of the genres that made EC comics the high water mark of sequential storytelling – science fiction, war, and horror – Heath’s adventures take readers on monthly jaunts to brave new worlds overrun by jellyfish brains, wild ape-men and rickety robots bent on intergalactic domination!

Continuing our looks at full first issues of recent Image Comics, up today, the color reprint of Girls #1, which originally shipped in May, 2005. The solicitation for the first issue reads:

written by JOSHUA LUNA
art & cover by JONATHAN LUNA

Ethan Daniels is a typical bachelor who suffers from one, infallible truth: dealing with the opposite sex can be complicated. One night, he bumps into a mysterious woman who will change his life… and maybe even the world.

Issue #8 came out at the end of December. The first Girls trade (collecting the first six issues) shipped at the end of November. Both are currently available.

Note: The full size art contains brief nudity.

The writing is a little hard to read in this one but it's pretty interesting and worth the read. Linkahoy!
