New Street Fighter 4 Screenshot?

I am pleased by this. Apparently polygon graphics, cel-shaded (with the Udon Studios design sense) and it'll play on a 2D plane.

Now give me Chun-Li, Capcom.

The screenshot doesn't really tell us anything about how the game will play. Although if it is an actual background, it pretty much confims Chunli's in the game, at least. That is her background stage.

What happened to Street Fighter 3? Was it Street Fighter Third Strike Alpha whatever?

I just hope its 'Street Fighter 4' and nothing else a few months after its release. No Alpha, Super, or whatever.
I loved SF2 when it came out, but the shameless 'new' variations made the series impossible for me to follow after a time.

You're right, it doesn't. But new information that came along with it does:

The game is reported to play "2D", like the old Street Fighters, but look 3D. It still has six attack buttons. Confirmed to return are Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and Dhalshim. We still don't know for sure what systems it will be released for.

As for the screenshot? I don't like it. I think he looks like a hobbit with those proportions. In fact, the first thing I noticed was that it lacked the Udon design sense. Still, this doesn't ruin the game for me yet since there's a lot more to a game than one guy's proportions.

Looks pretty similar to me, take a look at his boat-feet.

And the screenshot doesn't even look as good as the boat-feet picture you dug up.... which I also don't like. Udon has NUMEROUS artists, by the way. Not just that guy.

Oh, I know they have plenty of artists. I don't know what to say though, it certainly looks the same to me.

I think we're looking at a situation here that we were with TMNT. The stills looked kind of horrible, but it was much nicer in motion.

I dunno, Ryu's always had just huge feet. It's really evident in the action figures.

Awright, so Ryu is the secret love child of Frodo and Goku. We get it.

Let's talk about Chun-Li, as she is hawt.

Issues with the model aside, I gotta mention that the rendering is top-notch, it feels like it's actually an inked drawing. It's most-noticable on his boatfeet though.

But damn, I'd like to see more games use that sort of rendering.

Will Cammy be in it?

Well, I guess that rules out the chance of a Wii version...

Anyway, I doubt Cammy will be back for this one. Ryu Ken and Chun-Li are essentially the "Holy Trinity" of Street Fighter, even Dhalsim's inclusion is pretty much just fluff at this point. But sometimes companies do like to go above and beyond, so I wouldn't call it impossible.

I have access to a 360 and I'm pretty sure that this'll be arriving on the X-Box considering how friendly Capcom has been with Microsoft lately. So not having a Wii version won't bother me too much.

I do hope they throw in a lot of characters to choose from, I don't see why they wouldn't.

Dammit, Cammy would look fantastic in that sort of rendering :(
Better than big legged Chun-Li

Don't get me wrong, I love Chun-Li, but after looking at Ryu there, I dread to think how elephantine her stockinged legs will become. o_O

Chun-Li's thunder-thighs are awesome.

The graphics aren't the way they are in the teaser that everyone watched. The game's still pretty, but it has nothing of that ink-splashing or anything. Art direction is interesting. Unlike all the other 3D fighters, SFIV is not meant to be photo realistic.

Street Fighter IV runs at 60 frames per second.

Street Fighter IV will have online play.

The game takes place after Super Street Fighter II Turbo and before SFIII. The good news is that the character roster will be made of many old-school brawlers and some entirely new ones. There are two new girls on the list. We will probably not see any SFIII characters.

The stage you saw at 1Up, if you didn't figure out, is Chun-Li's Stage from SF2.

The excellent Parry system form SFIII is gone. The new system seems to be called Saving or Revenge (we're not sure about the name). We don't know exactly how it works, but it's built around cancels. And we do know we'll have another gauge to activate the Saving/Revenge stuff, besides the usual Super Gauge.

Supers are there (although they didn't decide yet if it will be like in SSF2T or SFIII), and now they've put another moves called Ultras. These makes your character throws a auto combo with tons of moves. It's like a custom combo ... except by the custom part.

Shen Long may appear in the game. We are NOT kidding.

The consoles are not decided yet, really. But, assuming that SFIV will have online play, we can obviously think of Xbox 360 and PS3 (duh). It's very likely that we'll see an arcade version without online mode too, and our sources told us that Capcom could put some test machines in Japan arcades in Q2 next year.

Huh, well that surprises me. I assumed that the "4" in the title meant that this would be the next game sequentially in the story, since really Alpha was "Street Fighter 3", but since it sequentially occured before the other games they gave it another name.

So, yeah. If this turns out to be true, then Cammie should be making an appearance. So, bully for pigtails and painted on camo patterns.

Yeah I have a problem with Chun Li's thighs. It's very strange on a girl with a normal-proportioned upper body. At least the men are consistently blocky, top and bottom.

Udon? Isn't Udon an Image Comics division? Why are we talking about Udon? Image sucks and can't hold a candle up to the great Bengus & Akiman. If Image lays a filthy finger on the official artwork of SF4 I will not touch it. I'm sure all Jpnese ppl think this.

This is Udon comics. They've been in charge of the Street Fighter comic series for a number of years now, and it's one of the best, most accurate and understandable interpretations of the Street Fighter storyline ever produced. The art style is based primarily on the original Capcom artwork, but evolved through the creators unique style.

Anyone who thinks that, should Udon contribute to the game, the art will somehow suffer, is painfully mistaken.

Their Street Fighter stuff is excellent, but I can't say anything for their other projects, since I've only read Street Fighter. I don't want to set your expectations too high, in retrospect, since that will ruin anything, no matter how good, I just wanted a counter to mlai's immature "Any American company will ruin Street Fighter no matter what".

Well apparently everyone from Street Fighter 2 is going to be in this game. (Including Chun Li, Shplane) It takes place between 2 and 3. You know a lot of this info is at 1up.com I mean anyone who checks shoryuken.com is probably already aware of that. But I'm assuming this place is an entirely different crowd. (I'm new here)
