Hey! Again, I hope this is the proper forum...

I just wanted to share with you something that really is the result of a lot of painstacking work and research and love! The first book of my fantasy trilogy is finally published! I'm so happy and fuzzy and warm, as writing is my actual weapon of choice in the arts and what I do best ;) *jumps around*

Please, check it out here, at the publishing house's site http://www.mindpower.gr [mindpower.gr]! I'd love to hear what you think about it, too :)

It's all Greek to me!

Hehe, seriously, here's a slightly better link for most here at DD: http://www.mindpower.gr/eshop/product_info.php?products_id=15&language=en [mindpower.gr]

That's an impressive achievment Tantz! :)

Impressive. Truly and very impressive. Writing a story that only fits into three books has to have been hard as hell for you. How did you manage to trim your work to fit into a trilogy?

Is that sarcasm, Rich? Or are you trying to convey some other message? But anyway, when you construct a world which feels real and has strict rules that make no exceptions, and make a rather original jab at something, I think three books are fine :) 'Sides, aren't trilogies the fad, lately? ;)

I have a sick tendency to try and write EVERY aspect of a story down to most minute and unimportant detail. Sorry if I came across as insulting or sarcastic, it's just a bad personal trait I've never been able to get rid of.

So that was a real question then? How I got everything in three books?

Yes. It was actually. Sorry if I came across wrong. Did you have to cut chapters and events?

No, not in the third re-write :P I had to write and rewrite it many times. I did not cut any events, but I have had to be very careful with the timeline. I also had to be very careful how to present everything so that characters did not seem like they were stating the obvious (to them) for the sake of the readers. It took a lot of thought, but in the end it is like real life. We don't include everything we know about the world in our everyday lives (we know a great deal more than we use daily).

I have to admit though, that I did leave out backstory (there are nuances and allusions to it, like a drop shadow, but only that) enough for another 2 books... hehehe. But that's supporting info and other parallel or past stories, not directly relevant to the story in the books.

geeze... I'm so jealous. I've rewritten my book six or seven times and I'm still trying to find a way into publishing. Well, I wasn't even 18 when I began and now that I am 18, I can legally do it... number one, I hate to bother you, but have any tips?
number two: Do you know which bookstores it's selling at, or can I only order your book online or can I just walk into borders and be like, "I want a Tantz Aerine book. Yeah, it's The Art of Veling. Gimme. Yeah, of course I'll pay for it."
Still exceedingly jealous, but on the brighter side, I'm more happy for you than jealous of you, and that's always a good thing.

Congrats! I've been wanting to write a book as a child author for a while. I want to break Christopher Paolini's record of writing a book at 15. He's such a nerd.

But congrats to you anyways!
Why hello there.

Thank you so very much. If it's any consolation, I was always jealous myself before I did manage to get the book published. It's a good sign and a good thing!

Tips... I can give you some yes! How about you PQ me or mail me at tantz_aerine (at) yahoo.com and I can write at my leisure whatever you may need (and you can ask me more specifically).

As for where it is selling: In bookstores abroad, I doubt you will be able to find it at the moment- perhaps by Easter you might. I'd advise you to order it online from the publishing house site- you'll get it cheaper and faster!

and Knuckles the book is in English (the translation is in Greek)! And I thank you so much! I will be waiting to hear from you when you do get it :)

I have been working on this for about 5 years officially and 8 in general O.o

As a matter of fact, I have not had any case of writer's block. Not once. I just had to forge it to perfection :) And reject some of the ideas and incorporate others. But it was more or less fully formed from the point of the full realisation that this was ready to be officially put down on paper :)

620 pages?! So this will be near 1800 pages when it's all done? Dang, you write too much.

I'm being weighed down at the moment with other things I have to read (like Walden, Huckleberry Fin, and some stuff by Emerson) but I'll think of buying this. I'm not really a big fan of trilogies though.

Thanks :) I am hoping then that it will be a pleasant surprise, when you do read it. I've been told that I actually write too little... O.o but only by people who have actually read my stuff. So we'll see!
