The anniversary edition is coming out, I just put it on preorder. They are also holding a contest for a speaking role in the audiobook, which to me is incredibly cool.
Anyone else enjoy this book? I am looking forward to seeing what has been added or changed, since I only read the original, and that was ages ago.
If you're interested in the contest itself, it can be located here http://neilgaiman.bookperk.com/engine/Welcome.aspx?contestid=29933

I read it and enjoyed it. I don't think it was his best work or the best work that he could have done. I'd be looking forward to seeing any changes that are made to it though. I heard they were also thinking of making it into a TV series.

Reading this at the moment and I'm enjoying it a lot.
I remember back in the 1980s (?) there was a UK TV production of Gaiman's Neverwhere which I thought was different but not especially well done. I subsequently read the novel in case it was just a bad adaptation, but decided the novel was pretty average too. Because of that I'd been avoiding American Gods but it was given to me as a Christmas present and, so far, I've been very impressed.
Between Nevermore and American Gods, Gaiman's writing has matured enormously. For anyone still undecided, I'd say it's definitely worth a read!

A WW2 fighter pilot, a First Century warrior queen and a prehistoric shaman. Oh, and their tailor. These are not your common-or-garden heroes! [..]
