Its odd how in Saints row. You (your character) will fall, Head first from a normal hight (lets say one floor above the ground). If you jump. You will drop like a stone, Head first like if your trying to sky dive and Die instantly. But yet in a cutscene and the same hight as you get ambushed by gangsters. you jump through a window: Head first and land perfectly on his feet. Yet at any other hight you'll just sky dive.
Thats something i dont quite get... But the "Argggh!!!" your character does (My character is asian so im not sure about any other character. Voices are different) is priceless.
Just add the evil cars cheat and insurance fraud and you got yourself a barrel of laughs!

An American game called 'Prince of Persia'
Yes, those were one of my favorite games. Every time I try to jump from one side to another, I usually slip of the edge and fall of some spikes that OWN3D the prince.
One of my most favorite deaths is when you kill a guard (I think it is a bug) he suddenly comes back to life and stab you.
One of the most strange deaths is when you killed the Dark Prince or he falls of the gap and dies, you die as well.
One of the most irritating deaths is after you have defeated Jaffar, when you head back to the door, I sometimes forgot to jump over that last gap.

In gears of war, if you stand on an opening emergence hole you'll fall in and die instantly.
I found it funny...

There's a lot of odd deaths to see in Source-powered games, with it's physics and ragdoll engines.
Once witnessed an event in Team Fortress 2, where a player was shot while next to a railing - ended up hanging by a foot from said railing.

Lord Shplane
Clocktower.
Look up a chimney? Something pulls you into it and you die. Open a door? Fall off of a cliff that the door for some reason opens onto. Open a drawer? A fucking severed hand jumps out of it and strangles you to death.
Seriously, almost ANYTHING you did on that game would kill you. :/
I agree.
This is the first time I've read this thread and when I looked at the title I thought, "Clock Tower". But then Lord Shplane said it first, and so I can only agree. Hahaha.
I've only played Clock Tower 2 (the one with Alyssa and Bates) and it scared me to the point that I didn't play it anymore. I watched the ending scenes/deaths on YouTube and found some of them pretty funny, like:
- Alyssa getting crushed by a falling dude in samurai armor
- Bates being all badass and then getting stabbed by a kid with a creepy laugh
- Alyssa getting sliced by someone with a huge knife and not getting sliced in half (which I expected to happen)
- Alyssa getting strangled to death (funny in that it is a lame way to die)
As for the first Clock Tower game (The First Fear), I also watched some scenes and found some funny as well (although some really scared me). Some of these are:
- the main character notices that one of her friends is drowning in a pool, but makes no effort to save her. When the friend finally sinks, the Scissorman appears and attacks the main character
- the main character goes in a room and then examines some armor. the armor falls and reveals a dead friend inside
- a friend gets thrown out the window
Another game with a funny death scene is Brave Fencer Musashi. If Musashi dies, he moans, spins around, lies on the ground, and says "Such a short life."
There's also a flash game called N, where you have to help a ninja with super high metabolism get through the levels. He has a very short lifespan and gold increases it a bit. Anyway, you can die by either killing yourself (yes, you can, and it has a blood spill effect), letting your lifespan run out, getting electrified/lazored, or even touching a mine (which divides you into little tiny pieces).
Speaking of little tiny pieces, when you die in this game called Ragdoll (or something), your body becomes little balls.
I'll add some more when I think of more. =^_^=

No More Heroes. The only video game where you can get killed by an actor, who also happens to be the seventh ranked assassin in America cosplaying as a superhero in a cult film who shoots lasers out of his cod-piece/belt thingy. He also has nipple guns.
Of course, you play a twenty-something anime obsessed, professional wrestling watching, video game playing loser who dreams of adventure, who kills others with an electrical beam katana bought from e-bay, which can be recharged by shaking the handle in a rather vulgar fashion.
I am not making this up.

Conkers Bad Fur Day. The first time you die, you are met by Death (called Greg) who then starts whining about how much of a pain in the ass you are. He then starts explaining his dislike of cats and how they smell like fish. Funny as hell.

The Hitman games had some of the most awesome ways to kill people.
Sodomy death with a fire poker! I haven't played the manhunt games, but I've seen clips. Like Chainsaw rammed down a persons throat.
Another one could be some of the GTA games. I once killed a guy by exploding a bunch of satchel charges, and then the blast shot a flaming golf cart into a guy at blinding speeds.

Zork is the name of this game, I think...
Walk around in a cave without a candle, and you get eaten by a grue. :)
I think I got eaten by a grue in Planetfall. Those little butchers really get around don't they?

Halo 3 has some of the funniest, most elaborate ways to die. look up on youtube and you'll see what i mean. Gears of War 2 has some of the most bloody/gory ways of killing people (or locusts for that matter). Sweetness.

Halo 3? Elaborate? Funny kills?
No siree, bub.
Halo 3's kills are either you fly off in the distance, fall down in some wierd position, you die when your vehicle blows up or... you know what? That's it.
Gears of War I agree with. As sick as it is to like the sound someone's head exploding, or them exploding in general, I love it. Fallout 3 has some pretty gory kills too... And some pretty gory monsters too...
When someone says centaur I don't think of a horse man anymore because of fallout...
