Yeah, lots of people prefer the games to the cartoon. Ironicly enough, I was drawn to Pokémon because of the show.
"The old series was way better than the new stuffs" is also a statement a get alot. I don't mind that, because I do admit that XD was to Colloseum is like Mewtwo to Mew.
Stadium was better for pure battling. I tell you something now. Many years ago, when Pokémon Stadium was released, a near Burger King had set up a T.V console thingies at the corner. It was very popular. It was so popular that it stayed there until late last year.

I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that it is almost exactly like the other one, except that the characters looks different. So I guess that unless you're a hardcore Pokémon fan.

well, it's a good way to pass the time. it doesn't go too much into the storyline and you don't have to interact too much with some of the annoying characters... you can just fuse your monsters together to make new monsters like crazy, and beat the crap out of the other person's deck monsters.

Wasn't that the one that had fucking nothing to do with the actual card game mechanics though?
actually no. I think you're thinking of the"Yuigioh: duelist of the roses" one.... I brought that one too, but that one was crap. it added all those unnesscary stuff, and pretty much fucked over the game itself by having the characters constantly chatter at you and such.
god, it was like if I made a bad move, they'd be like "hahahaha, you suck!! and now I will go into this long annoying explaination and show off my deck...blah blah, and I pwn your ass!!" and there was more talking than there was playing.
The forbidden memories one is good (it's for ps1)... and there's no characters talking back, andthey just focus on the game. they added a few rpg elements in there, but not too much of it. you can pretty much do whatever you want and go duel random people, even the people on the streets.... (whoever you want, with the expection of the tourment part, where they set it up for you).
and the best part if you win? depending on how well you played, they have to cough up one of thier best cards to you. so basically the loser loses his cards to you.
unless you lost, then it's just gameover.. which is no problem if you save constantly.

yeah, I know what you mean. with certain characters you have to depend solely on luck to even get out of the duel with your skin still intact. it's always like that in all the games... ugh. I seriously hate Seto Kaiba in the games, it's like he blatantly cheats a lot. I mean honestly, blue-eyed dragons on the first and or second turn every time? fucking impossible.
that's exactly why I duel shitloads of random people on the streets or whatever before I even duel ANY of the wellknown characters that are known for thier dueling prowness..
at least I can build up my deck and make my own really good deck of cards.
and I've now got the Comso Queen (my most favortive and powerful card so far) to beat even Seto Kaiba (that is, if I manage to draw it before he unleashes his dragons).

In every game Kaiba somehow got the fusion card and 3 Blue Eyes in his first hand.
Angered me to no end.
Playing against a friend is good fun though, and if they release a simple card game playable online, where you know your opponent is a human, I would buy it for sure.
yep, I feel your pain.
and actually, there's an online verison.. where you can just play with other players. let me get the box.
it's called "Yuigioh!: online" and it's only 9 dollars... comes with free 3 duel passes..... each pass is good for up to 90 duels, then they're used up. the catch is that you have to buy duel passes after they're all used up. but they're very cheap to purchase. it even comes with an ranking system and an community where you can just chat and trade cards.

yeah. that's why I don't really play it that much. I actually preffer the ps1 game to it.
but there's actually another online game out there too, besides that... and it's duel-pass free. no duel passes at all. it was created by an person who didn't really own yuigioh or anything like that.
I tried it, but umm... needless to say I was lost. it's like they got the chat and everything... but they didnt have any alerts on who went first, etc.. plus whenever I was making my move, the other person could actually make his moves too at the same time, which is actually against the rules unless it's trap cards or something.
plus it was like you could litterally grab whatever cards you liked from a big list to make your deck before you duelled. ANY cards at all. which I found lame. one of the fun that I found about yuigioh was about how you could go collect cards and build your deck little by little until you had an good deck. instead of having an powerful deck right off the bat.
I guess if they actually created an GOOD duel system online, I guess I would definely play it.
