in the ending to MGS snake eater you find out that The Boss was not actually a traitor, but she defected to find the philosphors legacy, and her being killed was just a way to cover the USA's ass. In the original Metal Gear you find out that Big Boss is in the terorist organization that your supposed to be hunting, outer heaven, you have to kil Big Boss, and you do so in the sequel, i believe that Big Boss did the same as The Boss (in case you didn't know all the other metal gears were set after MGS3) , the connection between all in the series may be metal gear, but it could also be the legacy, or I could be wrong, but lets just see what Hideo Kojima makes next.

Sounds good to me, but...

Portable Ops seems strongly suggest against that theory.

It could still make sense with PO, but it would be harder to piece it all together.

I don't think that Big Boss would agree to do what the US government forced The Boss to do. He wishes to be like her, a patriot to the death, but not a pawn to be used by the government. And remember, he did turn against the US twice. Once in Outer Heaven(Metal Gear) and the next time in Zanzibar Land(Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake). Him turning traitor could be of his own free will, or maybe just setting Solid Snake up to be like him(The Boss and Naked Snake's relationship in MGS3 mirrors Big Boss and Solid Snake's relationship in MG).

Oh well, guess we'll find out if or when Kojima comes up with the next chapter of Naked Snake's story. Or even in MGS4. Big Boss's remains were seen in a screenshot of it, maybe they'll delve into what Big Boss's true intentions for defecting from the US were.

And MPO is awesome. Never tried online yet, but I bet it's even more awesome.

That's too bad. MPO Online is AWESOME. It has three of the four gameplay modes of MGS3: Subsistence's online mode: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture Mission(CTF basically). You use the team you have made in Story Mode, so unless you were extremely lucky and captured an uber-soldier, you want to use special characters instead of recruits. Also, in the Real Combat mode, everything that happens to your team online happens to your team in Story Mode. That means that if Snake dies online, he's dead offline(He's the main character so he'll only have 1 hp). And other soldiers you capture from other players become your soldiers. That means if you are able to capture the opposing team's Snake, you'll have TWO(!) SNAKES!

And the obligatory trading of characters is also present.

I'd say that MPO is the best PSP game come out so far.

I've only played it offline and I still agree that it's the PSP game!
With Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth as a close second.
