After 10 years it has arrived! Even though Street Fighter VS. X-men was probably my favorite game in this series, I'm still picking this one up today.

I'm just skeptical as to how it will play. I've heard good and bad, some say that its easier than MvC2, which I guess is okay since I'm not the greatest MvC2 player in the world, but still enjoy it.

Anyone else picking this up, or have any thoughts on the game in particular?

It's a Grizzly Bear battling Zombies. Do you need to know more?

I've never been as big a fan of Capcom's "VS." games as I have been of their main Street Fighter installments. So I'll get this, but probably later when it's $40. It looks like the kind of fighting game I'll play to have fun, but won't play over and over again to get really good at.

And I wish they hadn't dropped Frank West.

I won't be getting it. The MvC series has become more and more AND MORE spastic and twitchy over its successive installments. It no longer plays like Darkstalkers + Air Combos, and more like Killer Instinct on steroids with seizure-inducing moving backgrounds which obscure the fighters and the real action.

I especially hate the flashing moving 3D backgrounds. It just does NOT work when the fighters are also 3D, with the same textures, color pallettes, and lighting as the backgrounds.

I might get it. I love the MvC games and even TvC was good, but I lose interest in 1-on-1 fighting games pretty fast...

It turns out that MvC is in the one genre I happen to enjoy the least (actually, not at all). So instead, I'll provide the opinion of a top, top fighting game competitive player:

MvC3 has to be the easiest and cheapest fighting game ever made

im just ranting on MvC3 cause i been waiting for this game and mvc2 was such a good high level game

On that note, games don't get figured out completely overnight, so maybe his complaints do have a counter, it's just more subtle than expected (he's referring to the Sentinel being the reason the game is too easy). Like I said, I'm not a fan of fighting games, but it does bother me when there are issues in balance.

No, he's right. The game is about a step up from Brawl in complexity with some horribly unbalanced characters.

Still, that makes it VERY easy to get into at parties and such.

MIKE HAGGAR.

MvC2 is a fun button mashing game, but it looks even better when taken serious. I want to hit up those concerts just to see what new insults Yipes is gonna do on Daigo or whomever else happens to be in the vercinity.

In fact, I'd say Yipes shoulda been the announcer. xD

I've gotten really good at this game. It's extremely fun. NOW FEEL THE WRATH OF MIGHTY MJOLNIR! {I was a fan of THOR before even the movie.}

Yeah, I'm surprised, three of my favorites who weren't in previous MvC games are actually in this game!!! How unexpected. I never thought I would use Zero in a game outside of the Megaman X series.

Now, about those funny situations that happen at those concerts, are you talking about something like this? XD {Happens just over a week after your post.}

I've been a looong time fan of the Vs. Series since the original X-Men vs. Street Fighter and've been eager anticipating this. When I played it for the first time though, I didn't know what to think. They'd once again changed the battle system and for the first time in four games, changed how you tagged out. Then there was the roster. I really didn't agree with their roster choice for both sides.

She-Hulk? M.O.D.O.K.? Spencer? Hsien-Ko? Akuma when Ken wasn't allowed to come?

I just didn't know how to feel about the game. But after picking it up personally and giving it some serious face time, I'm really starting to warm up to the game. Heck, even one of the guys I was critical about earlier, Spencer, has become one of my favorite characters. And I love the X-Factor and how it can effect the match. It's always fun cancelling a move with X-Factor just to use another super right after. Or sweeping a guy's team because he was lax on your last guy.

It's a fun game and worthy of the it's name. I just wish there was some more potatoes to go with the meat of the game. It doesn't have much fluff to go with the actual content. Like there's barely any unique artwork to collect, no match interactions, the "robust story" that was promised was completely dropped, etc. I appreciate the win quotes and endings that MvC2 lacked but I wish there was more.
