Here's the deal...I was a closet fan of the American TV show The O.C..
For those who know the show...not many guys watch the show.
My reason: My wife.
Its her fault and became a closet fan.
Anyways the show every season put out soundtracks from the show collecting songs which were featured through out the season.
Well...we bought every soundtrack before they cancelled the show earlier this year, even the Chrismukkah one(for those who don't know...Chrismukkah was a holiday created by Seth, a character on the show as a combination of Christmas and Hanukkah since his parents were Jewish and Gentile...yeah I know too much).
I have really enjoyed these soundtracks and will continue listening to them even a 5 years from now, remembering when Marissa died because she wanted to leave the show.
How can you not love songs like The Funeral from Band of Horses or Interpol's The Specialist...
So, what music do you listen to but are afraid to admit to...?
Media Megaforum
Music your ashamed to tell people you listen to...

I am not ashamed of them really, but so many people think they know what they are about with out really knowing anything. That being said. I wll never hit on a girl while wearing an ICP t shirt. I love 'em, but so few girls do.

I hate almost all modern music, and I'm very closed off when it comes to trying new things. I listen mostly to Electric Six, Ben Folds, bands like that. Stuff that you don't usually hear on the popular radio stations or see on the charts.
However, and I'm ashamed to say, I listen to Paris Hilton.
I am such a queer.

I guess Pantera, Devil Driver, and Six Feet Under mainly... I only like a few of their songs. I only have The Great Southern Trendkill from Pantera because I think its their Heaviest album, and even their heaviest could be considered radio friendly. I dont have any Devil Driver albums and dont intend to get any because I really only like the song "End of the Line"..... and I only like the song "Shadow of the Reaper" from Six Feet Under, because the vocals are pretty sick on the Chorus and it has a pretty good head banging breakdown in the middle of it... I personally like Chris Barnes' vocals more in SFU than when he was in Cannibal Corpse, though many would disagree with that.
As far as Pantera and Devil Driver goes, I'm ashamed to mention I like a few of their songs because they are both quite trendy mallcore bands. For Six Feet Under, well, Barnes is a bit of a sell out, the whole pothead death metal theme is pretty gay, and their music is unbelievably simplistic, as in boring.
I normally listen to much more extreme stuff like Obituary Morbid Angel, Deicide, Immortal, Gorgoroth and the like. But every once in a while... I kinda like their songs. I guess I'm just not Tr00, Kvlt, Grim and/or Frostbitten. :P

Was Evanessence a bad thing? I like her, with her over the top, "I'm so tortured" music.
Oh, it's an army thing. So you must listen to Manly music. Wha't that? Death metal and ganster rap and Country Western? I can understand that "Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Cole Porter Songbook" would be out, but Evanessence? What do the women soldiers listen to?
Pssst. Don't tell but here's on for the way back machine,
I wore out a boot leg cassette tape of OXO, who's one hit wonder song and video was "Whirly Girl." The rest of the songs on the album were strangely enjoyable, but totally unmemorable. I loved playing it on road trips.
And good god, here is a copy of the video!

"You're" is always a contraction of "you are." If you've written "you're," try substituting "you are." If it doesn't work, the word you want is "your."

Anatak...I am not familier with these bands but I get the feeling they are pretty heavy and hardcore. I guess in the circles you run listening to Six Feet Under may be considered...ummm...gay and may not want to leak listening to them...but to me if it sounds heavy and they play heavy, its rockin' heavy!!!....and very far from gay!!!!
I was reading your post and I was waiting for the other showe drop...like out of no where after listening to these extreme hard metal bands you occasionally slip in...
Barbara Streisand or Celine Dion...funny, huh?

Its funny, I keep the Pantera album "The Great Southern Trendkill" all the way in the back of my CD case so no one would see it and so I dont have to look at it and wont be reminded of my shame hehe.
