I think she was laughing at the bug-eyed picture. Or at least I hope she was. Still, that was pretty unprofessional.

I've talked to news people before:

What they'll sometimes do is try and freak each other out while they're on air, or just make them laugh. They do it deliberately to try and get just exactly this result. Could be anything from taking off clothes, dancing around, changing text on teleprompters, just simple jokes...

Only in Michigan. Oh how I love thee crazy Michiganders.

The report had to be from out of state though. That wouldn't have made the news in Detroit which is where the rest of the state usually gets it's news from.
