How dare a mother tell off her son! That's evil!
Who are we to discipline our children? We are too dumb for that. Big Brother is GOD and the police are his angels. They know better.

So the children go and tick her off, she yells at them, and then everyone hates her? That's a little bit of bs there. Can't someone get angry one freaking time? People are cruel...

She wasn't just "telling off" her children. She was threatening to hit them. It's not okay to hit your children.
From what I can gather in this story, she's not an abusive parent...but it does sound like she consistently "smacks" her kids. I definitely don't think that's a positive discipline technique. Keeping the incident on record seems like going too far, as that may keep her from participating in field trips and things like that with her children, but a policeman talking to her seems reasonable. It will probably get her to think twice before threatening physical violence on her children next time.

She was secretly followed home by an off-duty policeman who overheard her threatening to smack them unless they behaved.
I'm pretty sure the lady could file a lawsuit against the police for this. The policeman was off-duty and followed the lady home. ...That's invasion of privacy. ...As one reader commented:
The Mother that was followed by an "Off duty Policeman" was in my opinion STALKED by that man. As a Policeman, whether on duty or not; if he perceives that a crime has been or is being committed then it his duty to apprehend/inform the possible miscreant of such a fact and by immediately identifying himself as a Policeman to the "Perpetrator", not follow them home and then make a report which takes several days/weeks to filter through.

In general, Kyupol doesn't actually care where something comes from or its circumstances a long as at least one factoid in it matches his own ridiculous agenda.

That's not quite true. Humorman is the troll, and not a very good one.
Kyupol doesn't post this stuff to provoke people to react and then sit back and laugh. Kyupol believes in this stuff and wants you too as well. That's why he posts it.

police have trouble understanding the boundaries required by their job, use power for personal agendas.

I dunno, sometimes I think Kyupol goes a bit off the deep end, but other times I see the immaculate logic is some of what he proposes. The trouble is, truthfully, government's job is NOT to protect its people...it real job is to protect itself and what it percieves as it own best interests (interests of the ruling personnae of the day.) Case in point. The Supreme Court of the United States ruled back in the 1930's that the Bill of Rights was not a Bill of Rights granted to the individual, but Rights granted collectively to the individual States! This was later broadened to include Individuals--except in the case of the Second Amendment (right to own and bear arms...) which the Supreme Court still refuses to touch. Current Case Law in the USA has it that the Police's job is not to protect the safety of the individual--but to protect the 'safety of society' as a whole--whatever that is supposed to mean. If mind control does that--the police are on with the program fersure.
There is much to be concerned with, considering the governments of the world and especially the UK and Australia are hell bent on controlling, censoring and mandating what comes and goes on the net--and where is the freedom of speech and expression there? As much as I hate racism (my second wife was black, I have two in-laws who are Asian, adopted niece and nephew from Korea, a father-in-law who is a Seminole Indian Shaman and the list goes out to there...) I still believe that people should have the freedom to express their own beliefs! But the idoicy of Political Correctness is making even that a crime!
Sigh.
I have too much living to do to get carried away with all this worrying though, hey, life is short...enjoy what you can!
