Most productive time of day

Just wondered and figured I'd ask... when is the ideal time for you to work on creative projects? I am just asking because lately I have found myself pulling crazy all-nighters (it's 4:20 am as I am typing this) and actually doing much more work than in normal working hours. I am curious to see if anyone else has experienced (or regularly practices) this.

I used to do that back when I had actual responsibilities like school and whatnot and it actually mattered what time I went to bed and got up. I did all my best work at 3:30 AM or later. I'd run into a problem though if I was working on a song because if I didn't record the melody I'd often forget it when I woke up the next morning. Obviously with other stuff this wasn't a problem since I had to write it down anyway, but with songs I usually just automatically remember the musical component.
If I remember correctly at least 3/4 of my book was written between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning. I think that may also have been when the Adam West Batman show used to air on TV Land. Either that or it was right before it, cause I was usually awake to watch that anyway.

Generally any time I'm relaxed. Usually between 11am and 8pm, but sometimes I can be unable to work all day, then suddenly find I can draw at 10-11pm. Th key factor is generally state of mind rather than time. If I'm frustrated, my waste paper bin fills up quickly, but if I'm not, I can often hit the drawing or comic dead-on first attempt.

It has to be while the sun is still up. Once the sun goes down I lose all productivity and motivation.

There is no time of the day for me... I don't keep normal hours. I tend to sleep about 5 hours at most and I'm usually awake more than 20, so my spleep cycle shifts into other days.
I'm most productive towards the end of my waking time, be it night or day, morning, afternoon, midnight, whatever.
-Although I do like working at night a lot better.

I'm definitely a night person when it comes to my artwork. Plus anytime during the weekend.

My most productive time of day is usually around 2pm-8pm, and usually at the weekends.
I do tend to get a bit lazy creatively, though. :P

I usually make comics at the weekends during the day from 10:00am-6:00pm. But since I do more than just make comics (I am very active) I just update whenever.

I'm starting to think productivity actually correlates with the time you are actually left alone... or at least psychologically expect to be left alone ;)

not quite. at least for me, but I'm a freak so I could be the exception. I'm constantly bothered and having people look over my shoulder while I'm being creative.

I dunno about being alone, but I usually work at night because I want to have a life during the day. Also I believe in getting what I want done before working. eg. Going out comes first, work later.

Spring. Summer's OK, too.
Fall and especially winter kill me.
I used to be very productive once a month for three day weekends--that was when I didn't have my own PC and had to cram everything I'd hand-written over the previous month into word docs at my parents'.
I don't actually have a time of day that's consistently more productive. Though I do find myself becoming very creative and energetic when deadlines are looming...

I'm out of college, and unemployed... we like to call it working freelance. So hours have become meaningless to me. When I was younger, I used to sleep till about 1 pm, have a life till about 11pm, and work on creative stuff till 5 am. Then during college I worked during the afternoon, after classes, but before socializing. Now I do my comicy stuff during normal business hours (9 to 5) so that I can spend time with my roommate when he gets back from his real person job.
Lordy, I'm a slacker. I'm still not a morning person though.

I usually write and ink late night but I do the actual pencils during lectures her at the college. Works nice time-management wise.

Hm... I'd say anywhere between late morning and early evening. Most of the time, I get stuff done during afternoons. I don't know why.
Oh! And I tend to do a lot of work on rainy days. It's probably because I love hearing/seeing the rain as I work. I love rain.
Then again, a lot of the time, I just get inspired to work by the most random things, whether that inspiration comes in the middle of the afternoon, or the middle of the night. Or in the middle of class. XD
